The Integrated Urgent Care service operates across the entire county of Hertfordshire, bringing together the NHS 111 and OOH’s components into a single seamless high quality service. We are content to rely on our representations of 7 December 2015 on the pre-submission plan, but would also like to comment briefly on Matter 2, question 17 which asks: “Is the Luton HMA correctly and accurately described in paras 1.18, 4.5 and 4.7 of the Plan? In particular, is any part of Dacorum Borough Council within the Luton HMA? [see Council’s ‘minor modifications’ MOD9 & MOD29]” The ‘Luton and Central Bedfordshire Strategic Housing Market Assesment Refresh 2014’ (examination document HOU 003b) included two small parts of Dacorum in the Markyate and Gaddesden Row areas within the Luton Housing Market Area. In our letter of 20 July 2014 in response to the Draft Luton Local Plan we commented that the Dacorum parts of the Luton HMA were rural areas, not well served by services and facilities and therefore not considered suitable locations for growth. The boundaries of the Luton HMA were reviewed in the ‘Housing Market Areas in Bedfordshire and surrounding areas’ report (examination document HOU 003d).

BOROUGH PROFILE BOROUGH PROFILE SEPTEMBER 2017 SEPTEMBER 2017 1 Borough Profile Overview Hertsmere is located in the south-west of Hertfordshire abutting north-west London. Despite its proximity to Greater London, the 10,116 hectares borough remains largely rural and almost 80% of the land is designated Green Belt. The borough has five main settlements including: Borehamwood, Bushey, Potters Bar, Radlett and Shenley, with other villages and smaller settlements dispersed throughout the rest of the district. Hertsmere is very much a gateway to the county. This is reflected in the name given to the borough when it was created in 1974, combining ‘Herts’ a common abbreviation of Hertfordshire, with ‘mere’, an old word for a boundary. Hertsmere is not a single town or place and when Hertsmere was formed, it combined parts of Bushey and Potters Bar Urban Districts with Elstree and Watford Rural Districts. Population in Hertsmere The population currently stands at 103,000, which has risen by almost 13,000 between the censuses of 1981 and the most recent projections, made in 2015. The rate of population increase for Hertsmere (14.3%) is comparable with the rest of the UK (15.4%) but slightly less than average for the Southwest Herts sub-region (17.2%). We can’t afford to rest however, until all of our eligible residents and our workforce have been supported to have both doses of the vaccine. Nationally, coronavirus cases have risen to their highest level since early April, when lockdown restrictions first began to be lifted. But figures indicate the vaccination programme is making a significant difference and breaking the link between cases and hospitalisations. Please play your part by sharing the information in this briefing with your friends, colleagues and networks. Vaccine update There’s a big push on getting people vaccinated as the summer approaches, to make sure as many people are protected as soon as possible. I joined the Boys academy in early 2014, working with the U12s, and have worked with a variety of dierent age groups before becoming full time in the Academy in August 2017.
