TRACES OF SUBMERGED LANDS ON THE COASTS OF LANCASHIRE, CHESHIRE, AND NORTH WALES. By Edward W. Cox. Read 23rd March, 1893. GEOLOGY. T would be well if this paper could be prefaced I by a geological lecture, dealing with the causes of change in the levels of land and the coast-lines of Britain from the latest geological age, when man first appeared on the earth to replenish and subdue it, down to the present time, in order to prove the continuity and vastness of extent to which these forces worked. I can do no more than take them for granted, and refer to them in the briefest possible way, to show that only a small part of the great whole is contained within the limits of comparatively recent history and tradition with which we have to deal. -

Blaen Adroddiad_ModerneiddioYsgolion_PSC_130518 f1 Saesneg ANGLESEY COUNTY COUNCIL Scrutiny Report Template Committee: Corporate Scrutiny Committee Date: 13 July 2018 Subject: Schools Modernisation Programme – Report on the Statutory Consultation in the Seiriol area: Ysgol Beaumaris, Ysgol Llandegfan and and Ysgol Llangoed Purpose of the Report: Schools Modernisation on Anglesey – to report on the statutory consultation process; propose a recommendation and receive the Scrutiny Committee’s comments. Scrutiny Chair: Councillor Aled Morris Jones Portfolio Member(s): Councillor R Meirion Jones (Portfolio Member for Education Services, Libraries, Youth and Culture) Head of Service: Arwyn Williams, Head of Learning Report Author: Annwen Morgan, Assistant Chief Executive Phone Number: E-mail: Local members: Councillor Carwyn Jones Councillor Lewis Davies Councillor Alun Roberts 1 – Recommendation/s The evidence presented leads to the following conclusions. 1. That Ysgol Llandegfan needs, due to the number of pupils, current performance, cost per head and maintenance backlog and parental travel pattern [i.e. towards Menai Bridge], needs to be a central part of any new organisation. 2. The size of the schools, maintenance backlog, cost per head and % surplus places means that it is not possible to justify keeping Ysgol Beaumaris and Ysgol Llangoed open. A decision to amalgamate Beaumaris and Llangoed schools would . bring together two schools where current performance is similar and creates the conditions to raise standards; . reduce surplus places [20% in Llangoed and 72% in Beaumaris] and make a contribution towards reducing the variation in cost per head; . offer an opportunity to address the maintenance backlog in both schools and provide one twenty-first century standard building for the children and teachers; . -

Community Infrastructure 13
Background Paper 13: Community Infrastructure 13 February Gwynedd & Môn Joint Local Development Plan 2015 [Type text] Topic Paper 13: Infrastructure Background This is one of a range of topic papers prepared to offer more detailed information and explain the approach of the Plan to different topics and issues affecting the Joint Local Development Plan Area. This paper will look specifically at community infrastructure. It will explain the background which will help to identify the issues, objectives and options for the Deposit Plan. The Deposit Plan is the second statutory stage in the preparation of the Joint Local Development Plan (JLDP). The JLDP shapes the future growth of communities in the Joint Local Development Plan Area and will set out the policies and land allocations against which planning applications will be assessed. The Deposit Plan will be submitted to the Welsh Government, which will appoint an independent inspector to assess the soundness of the Plan in the Examination in Public. If the inspector considers the Plan to be sound it will be recommended for adoption. When adopted the JLDP will supersede the Gwynedd Unitary Development Plan (2009) for the Gwynedd Local Planning Authority Area and the Gwynedd Structure Plan (1993) and Ynys Môn Local Plan (1996) for the Ynys Môn Local Planning Authority. This topic paper can be read in isolation or in conjunction with the other Topic Papers and Background Papers that have been prepared to give a full picture the Joint Local Development Plan Area. You may refer to the Topic Paper as a basis for making comments about the Deposit Plan. -

Penmon Priory Church, near Beaumarais COMMOT OP TYNDAETHWY. THE churches of this commot, or hundred, sixteen in num- ber, are mostly of great simplicity of form, and include probably some of the earliest Christian edifices built within the island. The county town of Beaumarais stands within this commot, and its parochial church (which is in reality only Downloaded by [University of California, San Diego] at 13:08 29 June 2016 a chapel dependant upon Llandegvan) is the largest ecclesias- tical building in the district; but it is of a period rather later than that to which attention will be drawn in this paper: and, though an edifice of much architectural interest, must remain for more ample notice on a future occasion. At present all that will be attempted is to give a brief account of a few of the more notable churches of the commot, which may serve as types (and they are well suited to this purpose) for the rest of the island. -
