You will also find enclosed details of our School Games Competitions and some information from our sponsors. I look forward to working with you all next term with lots more exciting opportunities available to all ‘DSSN’ Schools. Clare This years Dacorum Dance Competition took place on Friday 28th March at Sportspace Hemel Hempstead. The theme this year was ‘Animals’ With over 500 tickets reserved it was going to be a busy night and a daunting experience for some of our younger perform- ers. 5 Secondary schools entered—Kings Langley, Astley Cooper, Longdean, JFK and The Cavendish School. The judges had a tough deci- sion this year as the standard of performances was brilliant. Astley Cooper won the Secondary competition and also took third place with Longdean school coming a very close 2nd. The primary competition was also of a high standard this year. We had two new school enter for the first time which was great to see. Entries came from St Albert the Great, Nash Mills, Greenway, and Leverstock Green. Congratulations to St Albert the great for winning, Nash Mills for coming second and Greenway for coming third. We also had showcase performances from Spotlight dance which was a real treat. Thank you to Judges Debbie Woodard, Lilli Bentley and Clare McCawley and also to 3 Strands Media for providing the music and lighting. We look forward to running the event again next year and hope to get more pieces entered from our primary schools. www.herts-ssco.org/Dacorum/new/index.php 1 PartnershipNetwork Competitions Events Spring & News 2014 (cont.) CHANGE 4 LIFE DISABILITY DAY On Wednesday 22nd January DSSN ran a Change 4 Life Festival at Hemel Hemp- stead Sportspace. Change 4 Life is a na- tional programme trying to raise partici- pation levels of pupils and also to make them more aware of healthy eating. Nash Mills, Gaddesden Row, Lever- stock Green, Lime Walk, Brockswood and Yewtree took part in the event. Activities included, Skipping, Gym- nastics, Dance, Badminton, Athletics, Boccia and Tri Golf. The students had a great time thanks to the leaders from Hemel Hemsp- tead school who ran the activities. On Friday 7th February we held our annual disability day for main- stream pupils. The event took place at Queens school in Watford. Activities included Football, Urban Rebounding, Cricket and Wheel- chair Badminton. Students from various schools in Dacorum attended the event, and some were even talent spotted. We hope now to raise awareness of disability sports and get more young people participat- ing. We also had a tray of Blueberries to give out to the school that put the most effort into the event. The blueberries were courtesy of John at Skip2bFit. Yewtree were awarded the blueberries. One young girl got took them home and made Blueberry muffins with them www.herts-ssco.org/Dacorum/new/index.php 2 PartnershipNetwork Competitions Events Spring & News 2014 (cont.) • Holy Trinity Annual Report
HOLY TRINITY Potten End The Church at the Heart of the Village ANNUAL REPORT Year ending 31st December 2019 UPDATE FROM THE VICAR Dear members of Holy Trinity, This annual report and upcoming APCM is a strange one. Due to legal requirements, our annual report must sit alongside our financial statement (which can be viewed on our website) which cover the year of 2019. This invariably means that the report is usually at least a couple of months ‘out of date’ when the Annual Parochial Church Meeting traditionally comes round in the spring. However, in the light of the Covid-19 pandemic, with the closure of churches then gradual re-opening, this meant that APCMs haven’t been able to happen until now. It is our legal duty to have this meeting but it is going to feel strange that we will be closer to 2021 and to next years APCM, than we are to 2019! And yet we are where we are, so therefore here in this document is the agenda, past minutes, reports and financial review in readiness for our APCM on Sunday 18th October at 11.45am in church and via Zoom. We hope that you are able to attend the meeting either in person or online (Zoom details below) but if not please send us your apologies (email [email protected]) or any questions/comments that you would like to raise. With regard to the conduct of the meeting, in order to make it go as smooth as possible (especially as we’re trying something new with also having it ‘virtual’) we will be taking the report as read and inviting any comments or questions that you may have.

It examines factors influencing the social composition of schools. A total of 23 LEAs completed interviews about their secondary school admissions arrangements The four case study LEAs have significantly different market scenarios. Results show that recent national education policy has not been evenly implemented across LEAs. A combination of organizational, structural, and demographic factors have muted much of the potential impact of school reforms on school admissions. Normative patterns of school use have not been substantially affected by the market reforms or the administrative actions of LEAs. LEAs remain important arenas within which school choice operates because they define kinds of choice available to parents in their administrative boundaries.

Nettleden with Potten End Parish Council www.nettledenpottenendpc.org.uk T: 01442 781124 E: [email protected] Nettleden with Potten End Parish Council Comments on the Dacorum Local Plan 2020 – 2038 Emerging Strategy for Growth Response to Dacorum Borough Council’s Regulation 18 Consultation, December 2020 – 28th February 2021 Agreed by the Council 18th February 2021 1. Do you think the overarching vision and the strategic objectives are right for the Borough? (pp3 – 26) No 1.1. The consultation process We appreciate the fact that the consultation period was extended, although this should have been agreed at the outset rather than imposing a significant workload during a national lockdown and over the Christmas holidays which self-evidently were always going to make it extremely difficult both to give the plan the attention it deserved and to undertake adequate public consultation. However we are still extremely concerned that the consultation has proceeded given that: • shortly after publication the Government changed its guidance on the level of housing growth required by the Borough, a key driver of the plan, and it now appears that the Borough is adopting a housing growth figure which is not consistent with the Government’s express intent to protect Green Belt land. • it is very difficult to understand how the majority of the proposed major developments can be described as “sustainable” given their distance from existing infrastructure. • neither the Infrastructure Development Plan not the Transport Plan are complete and under the current process it will not be possible to comment in any meaningful way on the Plan without the benefit of these significant elements.
