Greenfaulds High School Profile

The school High School is situated in the west of serving Greenfaulds, Ravenswood, , Westfield, Eastfield, Balloch and parts of . The school has recently moved into a brand new build which opened in September 2016. The outdoor facilities were completed in August 2017 and comprise multi-use sports pitches and an international standard athletics track. is the centre for Gaelic Medium Education within Council and currently has around 90 pupils supported by 4.6FTE GME staff.

The Roll The present school roll is around 1400 pupils from first to sixth year drawn mainly from our six associated primary schools, namely Baird Memorial, Condorrat, Ravenswood, Eastfield, Westfield and Woodlands and with placing requests from some other schools. The intake reflects the comprehensive nature of the school. The upper school roll is around 420.

The Staff The teaching staff for session 18/19 is 98.7 FTE teachers including the Head Teacher, five Depute Head Teachers and nine subject/faculty Principal Teachers. The Support for Pupils staff currently comprises seven Principal Teachers. Teaching staff are supported by a full time librarian, six clerical staff in the office, four technicians (one in technical and three in science) and an ICT / audio-visual chief technician. There are three janitors.

The Curriculum The school offers a wide curriculum which follows national guidelines on Curriculum for Excellence. Fourth year pupils follow a wide range of subjects at National 3/4/5, which progress in S5 and S6 into courses at the next level including Higher or Advanced Higher as appropriate. The school offers Gaidhlig to pupils from First Year, building in progression from Primary, and presents candidates for certification in the language in the Senior Phase.
