Greenfaulds High School Profile The school Greenfaulds High School is situated in the west of Cumbernauld serving Greenfaulds, Ravenswood, Condorrat, Westfield, Eastfield, Balloch and parts of Seafar. The school has recently moved into a brand new build which opened in September 2016. The outdoor facilities were completed in August 2017 and comprise multi-use sports pitches and an international standard athletics track. Greenfaulds High School is the centre for Gaelic Medium Education within North Lanarkshire Council and currently has around 90 pupils supported by 4.6FTE GME staff. The Roll The present school roll is around 1400 pupils from first to sixth year drawn mainly from our six associated primary schools, namely Baird Memorial, Condorrat, Ravenswood, Eastfield, Westfield and Woodlands and with placing requests from some other schools. The intake reflects the comprehensive nature of the school. The upper school roll is around 420. The Staff The teaching staff for session 18/19 is 98.7 FTE teachers including the Head Teacher, five Depute Head Teachers and nine subject/faculty Principal Teachers. The Support for Pupils staff currently comprises seven Principal Teachers. Teaching staff are supported by a full time librarian, six clerical staff in the office, four technicians (one in technical and three in science) and an ICT / audio-visual chief technician. There are three janitors. The Curriculum The school offers a wide curriculum which follows national guidelines on Curriculum for Excellence. Fourth year pupils follow a wide range of subjects at National 3/4/5, which progress in S5 and S6 into courses at the next level including Higher or Advanced Higher as appropriate. The school offers Gaidhlig to pupils from First Year, building in progression from Primary, and presents candidates for certification in the language in the Senior Phase. Backnrou nd 2.1 Reference is made to the Road Works Programme interim report made to committee on the 5 October 2005 2.2 Last financial year the Revenue and Capital allocations to Roads, Traffic and Lighting were maintained at a similar level to the previous year. This allocation has enabled the department to carry out a substantial works programme of asset renewal activities during the last financial year. 3. Programme 3.1 The works programmed to start in the last financial year in Northern Area is detailed in the attached appendix A. The total value of this asset renewal was f2,636,956.This programme of work was designed to complement the reactive works activities and extend the useful life of the assets, which comprise the road network. 3.2 The budget available for asset renewal in the forthcoming financial year is estimated to be f2,620,000.Programmes of work are currently being compiled and once complete these will be reported to committee. 4. In addition, the report suggests that an open enrolment policy should be examined as a possible arrangement for future primary to secondary transition. STATUTORY INSTRUMENTS 1996 No. 464 (S.33) NEW TOWNS The New Town (Cumbernauld) (Transfer of Property, Rights and Liabilities) Order 1996 Made - - - - 28th February 1996 Laid before Parliament 8th March 1996 Coming into force - - 31st March 1996 The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 36D of the New Towns (Scotland) Act 1968(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order: Citation, commencement and interpretation 1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the New Town (Cumbernauld) (Transfer of Property, Rights and Liabilities) Order 1996 and shall come into force on 31st March 1996.
