Department of Agriculture, Fisheries & Food SEED POTATO CERTIFICATION SCHEME LIST OF PRE-BASIC AND BASIC SEED POTATO CROPS INSPECTED FOR MARKETING in Ireland 2020 Ireland is designated by the European Union (EU) as a Protected Region for seed potatoes. Only Pre-Basic and Basic grades of seed potatoes may be marketed in Protected Regions. Certified Basic grade seed potatoes carry a white label and Pre-Basic grades carry a white label with a diagonal violet line. Lower grade Certified seed potatoes, which carry a blue label and are produced outside of the Protected Regions, cannot be marketed in Ireland. CLASSIFICATION AND UNION GRADES: All crops are classified according to Union grades: Pre-Basic Basic Grade PBTC PB S SE E The marketing of Union grade basic seed potatoes is restricted as follows: - For seed potato production, potatoes that fulfil the conditions for Union Grades S and SE - For ware potato production, potatoes that fulfil the conditions for Union Grades S, SE and E The maximum number of field generations allowed for pre-basic potatoes is four. The maximum number of generations of basic potatoes is four and the combined generations allowable of pre-basic potatoes in the field and basic potatoes is seven. The top Basic grade S is eligible up to a maximum of field generation five. SE and E grades are eligible up to a maximum of six and seven field generations respectively. If the field generation is not stated on the official label, the potatoes concerned shall be considered as belonging to the maximum generation that is permitted within the respective grade.     Updated December 2018 Record of Protected Structures Record of Protected Structures There are currently 377 protected structures in County Donegal. However, the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage (NIAH) survey for the County was launched at Glenveagh Castle in 2015 and a total of 2228 structures of architectural heritage value have been identified pursuant to this survey. As noted in Section 6.2 of this Plan (Built Heritage), the Minister at the Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs is using the NIAH process as a mechanism to make recommendations to Donegal County Council for structures to be included on the Record of Protected Structures and consequently the following tables will be subject to a systematic review and update over the Plan period, in order to further consolidate the records of built heritage within the county and ensure the protection of structures of architectural heritage value.     THE LIST of CHURCH OF IRELAND PARISH REGISTERS A Colour-coded Resource Accounting For What Survives; Where It Is; & With Additional Information of Copies, Transcripts and Online Indexes SEPTEMBER 2021 The List of Parish Registers The List of Church of Ireland Parish Registers was originally compiled in-house for the Public Record Office of Ireland (PROI), now the National Archives of Ireland (NAI), by Miss Margaret Griffith (1911-2001) Deputy Keeper of the PROI during the 1950s. Griffith’s original list (which was titled the Table of Parochial Records and Copies) was based on inventories returned by the parochial officers about the year 1875/6, and thereafter corrected in the light of subsequent events - most particularly the tragic destruction of the PROI in 1922 when over 500 collections were destroyed. A table showing the position before 1922 had been published in July 1891 as an appendix to the 23rd Report of the Deputy Keeper of the Public Records Office of Ireland. In the light of the 1922 fire, the list changed dramatically – the large numbers of collections underlined indicated that they had been destroyed by fire in 1922. The List has been updated regularly since 1984, when PROI agreed that the RCB Library should be the place of deposit for Church of Ireland registers. Under the tenure of Dr Raymond Refaussé, the Church’s first professional archivist, the work of gathering in registers and other local records from local custody was carried out in earnest and today the RCB Library’s parish collections number 1,114. The Library is also responsible for the care of registers that remain in local custody, although until they are transferred it is difficult to ascertain exactly what dates are covered.
