A flood of ads on your iPad? We’ve got something against that!

Adblock Plus releases new version to improve on iOS

Cologne - 16 December 2019 Adblock Plus released on December 16, 2019 the 2.0 version of Adblock Plus for iOS. Just in time for users who are overwhelmed from suddenly overflowing advertisement barrages on their iPads.

Now, Adblock Plus is not just faster than ever, the user interface for Apple users has also been freshened up and improved. Activating the ad blocker is now much easier. Moreover, users can enjoy YouTube advertisement free in Safari. That means no annoying pre-roll videos before the actual content starts, and no interruptions mid-video, when things are just getting interesting.

Consequence of the new operating system iOS 13, iPad users will no longer be surfing with a mobile version but rather a desktop browser version. With a desktop browser, there are significantly more advertisements that bombard a device, and usually of the more in-your-face style, like animated ads. With mobile devices, that is usually avoided as many users have a capped data tarif, and also because of insufficient bandwidth. For users who do not want to use an iPad exclusively with WLAN, the iPad OS change can negatively affect the bandwidth and battery time of the device.

Users have the right to an undisturbed web experience, whether that’s with mobile or WLAN, and they have the right to decide for themselves if they want to see advertisements and if so, which types. Luckily, there is now the chance for these users to get their autonomy back.

“By now, most people use the internet on mobile devices like smartphones or tablets. That’s why the advertising industry resorts to ever more intrusive ads on these devices. Though, naturally we have the solution for that; we are for good reason the world’s most popular ad blocker,” says Till Faida, CEO of eyeo GmbH.

Adblock Plus for Safari can naturally also be installed on an iPhone or a Macbook. Additionally, Adblock Plus offers ad blockers for Android and most of the current Desktop browsers, like Mozilla, , and .
