• The VP11 is a family of mine-protected patrol vehicles, produced by China North Industries • The four-wheeled vehicles are designed with a one-piece armored V-shaped bottom, so that the explosive force of enemy mines will be directed outwards, away from the vehicle's occupants. • One model of the family is designed to serve as an armored personnel carrier, carrying seven soldiers, in addition to the vehicle's driver and commander/gunner. • Its roof will mount a remote controlled weapon system, capable of controlling an automatic launcher or machine gun. PLA Infantry Fighting Vehicle VN-17 IFV

• Latest generation of fighting vehicle • It offers high level of fire power, protection, mobility and communication systems for multi¬purpose operations. • The main armament of the VN17 tracked IFV consists of one a 30mm automatic gun, one coaxial 7.62 machine gun, Red Arrow 12 ATGM (Anti-Tank Guided Missile) launchers mounted on each side of the turret. This missile offers effective killing capability against ground targets at a maximum range of 2,500 m and against aerial threats up to a range of 4,000 m. • The high-strength torsion bar suspension with resilient damper offers high maneuverability and comfort during combat operations. • The VN17 armor provides all-around protection against firing of small arms and shell splinters. The turret and vehicle hull offer same level of protection and can be upgraded to NATO STANAG level-6 protection capability. The bottom part of the chassis can be fitted with anti-mine module, offering protection against blast explosion of 6 to 8 kg of TNT. PLA Infantry Fighting Vehicle II ZBD-09

• The ZBD-09 was based to the chassis of the VN1 8x8 wheeled chassis. • Armament: The ZBD-09 is fitted with a two man turret, armed with an Ukrainian modified 30 mm automatic gun. A 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun is fitted to the left side of the 30 mm gun. To each side of the turret is mounted a launcher system, for the wire-guided Hong Jian-73C anti- tank guided missiles. Two lines of three smoke- discharger are mounted to each side of the main gun. • Protection: The hull and the turret of the ZBD-09 is made of high hardness armor steel, which provide a protection against 12.7mm armor-piercing incendiary (API) strikes frontally at 100m, 7.62mm API on the sides at 100m and 7.62mm ball at the rear. The ZBD-09 can also be fitted with add-on armor package enables the vehicle to survive 25 mm API frontally at 1,000m and 12.7mm API on the sides at 100m. • The ZBD-09 is fully amphibious, it can swim at a speed of up to 8 km/h. It is propelled in water thanks to two propellers fitted at the rear of the hull. The ZBD-09 is equipped with a collective NBC protection system, automatic fire extinguishing system enhancing survivability of the vehicle. The ZBD-09 is also equipped with a central tyre inflation system which can inflate or deflate the tyres and test the tyre pressure automatically. In option, the ZBD-09 can be equipped with a powerful air conditionning system, a GPS (Global positioning system) and a winch. PLA Infantry Fighting Vehicle Type 92/WZ551A

• It has a crew of three men, and is fully amphibious, being driven in the water by shrouded propellers. • The driver and commander sit in the front, the engine is in the middle, and the passengers, equipment or turret basket is located in the rear. • The IFV version is equipped with a ZPT-90 25 mm cannon and a 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun in a closed turret and it can carry 9 passengers. The 25x183mmB ZPT-90 is based on the Type 87 anti-aircraft cannon, which is a bored-out version of the Type 85 anti-aircraft cannon, itself is a direct copy of the Soviet 23x152mmB ZU-23-2. Some vehicle are even armed with the Type 87 instead of the ZPT-90. The cannon has a full 360° traverse with an elevation of -8° ~ 55°. Ammunition load for the cannon is 400 rounds, with 200 rounds carried inside the ammunition cartridges, and an additional 200 (120 high-explosive rounds and 80 armour-piercing rounds) carried in the turret. The gun can fire single, 3-round burst, 5- round burst, or fully automatic. The maximum cyclic rate of fire is 200 rounds/min. Secondary weapon is a coaxial 7.62mm Type 86 machine gun with 1,000 rounds. PLA Main Battle Tank ZTZ-

• third generation main battle tank (MBT). • Has modular composite armor and tandem-charge defeating ERA • The main armament is a 2-plane stabilized 125 mm smoothbore gun with a carousel- style autoloader. The gun may be fired under computerized or manual control. The tank can carry 42 rounds including 22 in the autoloader. The rate of fire is 8 rounds per

minute using the autoloader, and 2 rounds per minute with manual loading.[20] The Type 99A mounts an improved 125 mm gun. • The 125 mm gun of the Type 99 is capable of firing APFSDS-T, HEAT, Frag-HE-T, and gun-launched anti-tank missiles (ATGM). The gun may fire a range of Chinese, Russian, and ex-Warsaw Pact ammunition. • The Type 99 can fire tandem shaped charged ATGMs similar to the Russian Invar with a range of up to 5 kilometers. • The Type 99 has hunter-killer capabilities, operating an ISFCS-212 fire control system with an IR automatic target tracker. • It is capable of firing on the move with a stabilized gunner's thermal sight and laser range finder. • The Type 99A MBT is equipped with the improved 1A45T Fire Control System • The tank is fitted with data-link, global positioning system and other form of communication devices along with an inertial navigation system as well as a battle management system used in conjunction with the data-link and communication systems to coordinate combat with other forces such as aircraft and infantry. • The tank is also equipped with an active protection system.
