City Manager Newsletter By TRACKDOWN MANAGEMENT "Providing thread to help stitch together the fabric of the City Management Community" February, 2014 Page | 1 Volume No. 8, Issue No. 2 List Created by Finishes in the 28th Annual Chili Bowl Midget Nationals Over the years we have pulled together some admittedly highly "contrived" ways of listing California's City Managers. It is important to acknowledge city management professionals who generally hug the walls and stay out of the spotlight unless it is the "blame light." City Managers work for a group of bosses and only those who have done it understand how hard it is to keep all the balls in the air at the same time. We salute city managers and their staffs. (L to R) Ralph Holmes of De La Rosa & Co.; Marshall Linn, founder of Urban Futures; Wesley Wolf, founder of Wolf & Company & this newsletter's first official “You can't make footprints in the sands of time if sponsor; and Frank G. Tripepi of Willdan. Wes and you're sitting on your butt. And who wants to Frank are former City Managers. Michael Klein Racing Sponsorship
Michael Klein Racing Sponsorship Michael Klein Introduction Dirt racing sponsorships are a great way to introduce your company and product to an audience of over 1.3 million drivers and fans. Thousands of fans attend races every week and many events are shown live on streaming services such as FloRacing and Lucas Oil Racing TV. Driver Bio I started my career racing karts at the age of 15, scoring three feature wins running a limited schedule each year of my karting career. In 2018 I began running dirt midgets with MWR Technology in the Badger Midget Series. In 2019 I made my USAC Midget debut at the BC39 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and made on more USAC appearance at the Jason Leffler Memorial at Wayne County Speedway. Sponsor Benefits When a company decides to sponsor a race team, this comes with many benefits to the company. Their product is being promoted to the entire audience of dirt racing fans, which exceeds one million. Race fans are known for being loyal to companies that support their favorites drivers. Sponsorship comes with exposure on the car, drivers firesuit, social media, and website. A good example of this is with NOS Energy, which sponsors both the USAC NOS Energy National Midget Series and World of Outlaws NOS Energy Sprint Car Series along with several midget and sprint car teams, and as a result they’re one of the most popular brands in the world of dirt track racing. Divisions Midgets Midget cars are characterized by their smaller size and very high power to weight ratio and are usually powered by four cylinder engines. -

ImPRESSions© The Official Newsletter Of The American Auto Racing Writers and Broadcasters Association February 2014 Vol. 47 No. 2 Andy Granatelli - True Icon of Indianapolis 500 He was, without doubt, one of the most dominant and iconic personalities in the history of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. An innovator, tireless promoter and public relations genius, the flamboyant, larger-than-life Andy Granatelli succumbed to congestive heart failure Sunday, Dec. 29 in a Santa Barbara, Calif., hospital. He was 90. Granatelli’s lifelong passion for motor racing was unquestioned. A car entrant in the “500” over a span of almost 30 years from 1946 until 1974---typically with multiple entries---there is no question that the combi- nation of his very choice of equipment and his flair for publicity introduced the sport to thousands upon thousands of individuals who might not otherwise have paid any attention. - Excerpt from IMS Press Release of December 31, 2013 Over the years, we have lost many great racing icons, most recently George Bignotti and Andy Granatelli. If any members have short stories or quotes they would like to share about these two men in our AARWBA newsletter, please e-mail them to Andy Hartwell at [email protected]. Among the titlists who were recognized, Southern Modified Tour kingpin George Brunnhoelzl III not only received his de- serving accolades, but also doled out some credit of his own. -
