The $225,000 median was down 3.2% from $232,500 last year. "All in all it was a very solid horse sale," Fasig-Tip- ton president Boyd Browning said. "People continue to gain confidence (in the market). It feels fair. I'll sleep a little better tonight." Browning called the RNA rate "very acceptable" at 18%; 15 horses failed to meet reserves versus seven in last year's first session. "I liked the diversification of the buyers," Brown- ing said. "We had strong international participation tonight." El Capi Racing, a group of South Americans, spent $2 million to buy the sale-topper, a Tapit colt. BH
