Inspectress Gadget: The LG Quantum- Not For Slow People

Written by Claire Perkins

If there’s one thing I can’t deal with, it’s slow people. People who you have to explain everything to, people who ask you to send them an address they could have easily Googled themselves, people who can’t do a Facebook search. I don’t like being asked questions. Figure it out yourself!

Unfortunately, the world is full of these people. Free as a bird, happy-go-lucky...slow. Is there a gadget that can help uptight gals like yours truly?

Leave me alone with my phone.

Today’s Toy: The LG Quantum, a new Windows 7 Phone from AT&T that features a pull-out QWERTY keyboard, and PC-like Web browsing.

What type of girl would use this phone? Girls like me, who lack patience and don’t like to be bothered.

Read on for the deets!

Is anybody in there?

Looks Are Important...

With a large number of strictly-touchscreen smart phones out there, it’s refreshing to see the LG Quantum- with it’s pull-out keyboard- hit the market. It means all the benefits of the wide screen, easy browsing and clear movie-watching, without having to worry about constricting (sometimes sluggish) touchscreen typing.

Hardware Deets Include:

A backlit, slide-out QWERTY keyboard with predictive text Height: 4.7 inches Width: 2.34 inches Thickness: .6 inches Weight: 6.1 ounces Display Screen: A 3.5 inch WVGA TFT touchscreen display Memory: 16G of internal memory storage Battery Capacity: 1500 mAh, with six hours of talk time and up to 14.6 days of standby

Where can you get an LG Quantum, you ask? Here, let me Google that for you.

...But It’s What’s Inside That Counts

Another AT&T 7, the LG Quantum’s OS is the definition of efficient. No messing around, boring buttons or other nonsense that slows you down. As we mentioned last week, keeps everything at the surface with a “hub and tile interface” We love it! What’s more, the AT&T Windows 7 Phones are already known for their fast processors. We have a feeling we’re going to get a lot done with this bad boy.

Features include:

3G High-Speed Data & Voice Multitasking- use voice and data at the same time Full Web browsing on an HTML browser- it’s just like a PC!

So what do I think? Read on to find out the best and worst feature...

Don't be stupid, try the LG Quantum.

Favorite Features: Obviously, the operating system is amazingly fast- it takes only a sec to jump around from app to app. The phone is lightning fast and the pull-out keyboard helps me fire off urgent e-mails and texts way faster than I’d be able to otherwise. It can keep up!

Least Favorite Feature: I’d like the option for expandable memory- it doesn’t currently have that option, and I have a lot of iTunes I’d like to have in tow.

The LG Quantum is available now at ATT.com or AT&T stores for $199 with a two-year contract.
