Matthew Spaulding

Matthew Spaulding graduated from Loyola Law School in in 1983. He has been a sole practitioner since that date with an emphasis in immigration law, focusing on religious work visas as well as family immigration, citizenship, deportation, asylum, and citizenship applications. He has represented a number of religious organizations across the United States, including many YWAM bases. He represented several YWAM bases since 1996. Mr. Spaulding entered the practice of law as a Christian believer and has sought to incorporate his Christian faith into the practice on a day-to- day basis. Mr. Spaulding graduated from the University of California San Diego (Muir College) with a BA in history, and is a life-long Southern California resident.

William B. Yetter

Bill’s experience with insurance products extends over 36 years. For the past 23 years Bill has been designing and managing property and liability insurance programs with Heffernan Insurance Brokers. Prior to Heffernan, Bill worked with the California Farmer Publishing Company and was involved in marketing supplemental health and catastrophe insurance products to magazine subscribers of the publishing company.

With Heffernan, Bill specializes in working with Non Profit Organizations throughout the United States, particularly Religious Organizations, Camps, Retreat and Mediation Centers and Social Service Programs. Bill’s clients include both single location insureds as well as multi location, multistate insurance programs. Bill created and manages the World Religion Insurance Program. Bill is a graduate of California State Polytechnic University.

Robert Showers helped start Simms Showers LLP in 2002, originally a Baltimore-based law firm, as a principal partner and heads up the new Northern Virginia/Metropolitan D.C. office. His practice focuses on civil and commercial litigation and church, nonprofit and business law. He regularly handles numerous lawsuits for and against church, nonprofits and small businesses and advises them on corporate, risk management, tax- exempt, liability, land use, construction and employment issues to avoid future problems. Prior to joining Simms Showers in 2002, Mr. Showers was a managing owner in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area firm, Gammon & Grange for 13 years where he headed up its litigation department practicing in similar areas of the law. Mr. Showers, has served hundreds of churches and nonprofits nationwide with legal representation of denominations such as the Southern Baptists, Christian Missionary Alliance, Assemblies of God, Presbyterian Church of America, Church of the Nazarene, Seventh Day Adventists and others, major ministries such as Americans United for Life (AUL), Mercy Ships, (YWAM), Focus on the Family, American Bible Society, Shelter for Life, Christian Herald Association (Bowery Mission), Religious Alliance Against Pornography (RAAP), and numerous associations such as Association for World Evangelists (ABWE), Evangelical Council of Financial Accountability, Association of Christian Camping and Conference Centers International, Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia, and Christian Legal Society. He has represented numerous small businesses and individuals in a wide variety of business litigation, intellectual property, employment, personal liability, construction, and contract issues.

Mr. Showers took a leave of absence in 1992-93 to start up and run the nonprofit National Law Center for Children and Families where he served as its first President and General Counsel and still actively participates on the Board as Director and Secretary. Since leaving the U.S. Attorney’s office and Department of Justice, Mr. Showers has trained hundreds of law enforcement and prosecutors, assisted numerous cities and counties in drafting and defending ordinances regulating sexually oriented businesses, legally helped victims of child abuse crimes, defended churches and nonprofits in many areas including sexual misconduct and child abuse and represented organizations on many other types of civil and commercial litigation and risk management issues.

Mr. Showers has lectured extensively nationwide and written articles on church and nonprofit law, sexual misconduct, and anti-pornography and child sexual abuse. He is the co-author of Don’t Touch That Dial – The Impact of the Media on Children and Family (Huntington House, 1993); Child Exploitation and Pornography – A Guide to Prosecutors and Investigations (NLC 1995); Sexually Oriented Businesses – A Guide to Cities and Counties (NLC 1995); Legal Hotspots in the Church ( 2003); a series of Child Protection and Risk Management memos for churches and non- profits and numerous law review articles, the most notable entitled Regulation of Pornography –The North Carolina Approach (Wake Forest Law Review, Fall, 1986) and Church Law in Virginia (pending 2012-13). Mr. Showers has also appeared in numerous cases and filed numerous briefs before many federal courts including the U.S. Supreme Court on various constitutional issues.

In 1977, Mr. Showers graduated cum laude from Wake Forest University with honors in History. In 1980 he graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law where he served with distinction on the Law Review and Moot Court Board. He has been married for over 25 years and has three wonderful daughters. Formerly, Mr. Showers served as Chairman of the Deacons and Sunday School Director and Teacher at First Baptist Church of Alexandria. He has been involved in three new church starts: Providence Baptist (Raleigh, N.C.), New Hope Church (Alexandria, VA) and Gateway Community Church (South Riding, VA) in varying capacities. Martin Rediger

Compassion International

Family History Martin is the eldest child of Claude and Wilma Rediger. (Claude and Wilma have 6 children and 26 grandchildren) Martin was with Claude and Wilma while they served as Assembly of God missionaries in Samoa, Philippines and Indonesia and then when they served as the leaders of YWAM Australia. Martin met his wife Aileen at Oral Roberts University and they have been married for 33 years. They have 5 children born in Kona, and a 6th child born in Colorado Springs. Their children have been to DTS in Kona, Perth, and Cape Town and have served in YWAM in India, Fiji, Egypt, Tanzania, Brazil, Zambia, etc. Martin and Aileen now have 3 grandchildren with one on the way and are greatly enjoying being grandparents.

YWAM History Martin’s parents were visited by Loren & Darlene, Joy Dawson and teams led by Jim & Jan Rogers and Floyd & Sally McClung in the 1960’s. In 1971 the Rediger family visited the SOE in Switzerland for one month. After this month Martin (14 years old at this time) stayed on for the rest of the SOE and then was on the first YWAM outreach team to Cyprus and Egypt. Martin served in YWAM Australia from 1972 to 1975. In 1976 Martin attended a 6 week LTS in Kona and then participated in the YWAM Bicentennial Outreach in Philadelphia and the Olympic Outreach in . In 1977 Martin participated in a Bibles for Mexico outreach. In 1981 Martin and Aileen went as an engaged couple (his parents asked that Aileen attend a DTS before they got married) to a DTS at King’s Mansion. After getting married and working for a few years Martin and Aileen became YWAM staff in Kona after receiving a call from Loren. Martin and Aileen were Kona staff for 11 years (1984 – 1995) serving as the leader of accounting, then HR, then as the Operations Director. Since then they have visited Kona a few times including attending a YWAM Associates In Touch camp and the YWAM 50th Anniversary.

Work History While at Oral Roberts University Martin studied Systematic Theology, Greek, Psychology before deciding to become an Accounting Major. He also received his MBA from Oral Roberts University. Martin passed the CPA exam the first time he took it and also passed the exams to become a Certified Management Accountant and a Certified Internal Auditor. Martin’s first professional job was with Arthur Andersen (one of the Big 8 accounting firms) and then he worked at a bank before joining YWAM as staff in Kona. In Kona Martin led the accounting department and then before he left he was the Operations Director overseeing the Mission Builder Program, Campus Services, Human Resources, and Computer Services. After leaving Kona in 1995 Martin moved to Colorado Springs and was hired in 1996 as the Accounting Manager for Compassion International. At that time the Finance department had 7 staff members and Compassion’s revenue was under $70 million. Compassion has grown significantly and revenue for FY2014 was over $700 million and the Finance Department at Compassion has over 40 people. Martin, as Controller oversees the work of over 20 staff. Before being Controller Martin was the International Finance Director and has had the opportunity to visit all 26 countries where Compassion delivers it program and all 11 countries that raise funds for Compassion’s ministry.
