Descender continues to be excellent in every way, shape or form.By RPHonestly, I've never been a very big comics guy. I just happened to stumble on a review of this comic when it first came out and decided on a whim to get it, because it had so many SF themes and elements I really love. What I really like about it is it's something in between a space opera and more serious sci fi fare. There's great writing, spectacular (mind-blowing!) art, and the only thing I don't like about Volume 2 is the fact that the writer and artist are taking a month-long break every time a new volume comes out on print -- and I want to know what happens next! All kidding aside, if a series like this can grab a person like me who doesn't normally read graphic novels or comics, I think many, many people should check it out. This is fantastic work and deserves every sale and piece of recognition it gets, and the price is a steal for six chapters of story, every bit filled with stunning art, great characters, beautiful worlds and fantastic writing. So, give it a shot!1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Considering my love for science fiction movies and video gamesBy SzechuanSashaConsidering my love for science fiction movies and video games, I have seen many tropes throughout the years. I find our main character Tim to be endearing and you're rooting for his safety and happiness the whole way through. I loved the introduction of the new characters which helped fix some of the Mass Effect like story I read during the first tradeback. I am very much looking forward to the rest of this story. Jeff is a phenomenal writer! The water color art really wins me over. As a fan of Battle Angel Alita, this reminds of that story in some ways.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. I'm in this series until the end, without doubt!By HexanovaI don't read many graphic novels as I prefer straight up science fiction and/or space opera to superheroes. Descender delivers on every level! Great characters, excellent story/writing, lots of mystery, killer world building, and wonderful art. It's one of the few graphic novels where I feel I've gotten my money's worth, as they tend to be pretty pricey. I'm in this series until the end, without doubt! Well worth it! Young Robot boy TIM-21 and his companions struggle to stay alive in a universe where all androids have been outlawed and bounty hunters lurk on every planet. Written by award-winning creator, Jeff Lemire, Descender is a rip- roaring and heart-felt cosmic odyssey. Lemire pits humanity against machine, and world against world, to create a sprawling epic.
