We often start to worry, And people get upset If things don’t all go right on Christmas day. What we should all remember In all the push and shove Is Christmas is a time of love. Christmas is a time, Christmas is a time, Christmas is a time to love. Christmas is a time, Christmas is a time, Christmas is a time to love. Christmas is a time to love. Child 1: We see signs of the faithfulness of Jesus at Christmastime. The Bible reminds us that our Lord is always faithful. (A child appears holding a Bible). Child 2: We can read about the faithfulness of Jesus many times in history. Child 3: God is still faithful to us today. He helped us safely through another year. Child 4: He blessed us once again with a bountiful harvest. Child 5: Child 6: Jesus provides for us in many ways. He is faithful. His faithfulness is a true sign of Christmas. Signs of Christmas 5 Great Is Thy Faithfulness Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father; There is no shadow of turning with Thee. Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not; As Thou hast been, Thou forever wilt be. Chorus Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see; All I have needed Thy hand hath provided Great is Thy Faithfulness, Lord unto me. Summer and winter and spring-time and harvest, Sun, moon and stars in their courses above Join with all nature in manifold witness To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love. Repeat Chorus Child 1: Another sign of Christmas is light. The star above the manger reminds us of this light. (A child appears holding a lit candle). Child 2: The light of Jesus came into the world that first Christmas night. Child 3: The light came in the form of a tiny baby. The light filled the stable that night. Child 4: But the light grew. Now, the light of Jesus covers the entire world. Child 5: The light of Jesus came so silently that night. Child 6: No one really knew that this light would change mankind forever. Signs of Christmas 6 Away in a Manger Bless all the dear children In Thy tender care Away in a manger, And fit us for heaven No crib for His bed To live with Thee there. The little Lord Jesus And fit us for heaven Laid down His sweet head To live with Thee there. The stars in the bright sky Looked down where He lay Silent Night The little Lord Jesus Asleep on the hay. Silent night, holy night! All is calm, all is bright Be near me, Lord Jesus, Round yon virgin mother and Child I ask Thee to stay Holy infant so tender and mild, Close by me forever Sleep in heavenly peace; And love me I pray Sleep in heavenly peace. Child 1: Another sign of Christmas is gifts. (A child appears holding a Christmas gift) Child 2: We all enjoy giving and receiving gifts on Christmas. Child 3: But, the greatest gift ever given to the world was Jesus. Child 4: The Wise Men realized the awesome gift of Jesus to the world. Child 5: That is why they gave Him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to show their love. That is why they worshipped Jesus. Child 6: What can we give to our King this Christmas? Let’s give Him our hearts, our lives and our love. Signs of Christmas 7 What Can We Give to the King What can we give to the King? Give to the One who has ev’ rything? What can we give, what gift can we bring? What can we give to the King? What can we give to the King? Give him a heart that’s opened up wide, Give him a life that’s got nothing to hide. Give him a love that’s tender and true, And He’ll give it all back to you. Yes, He’ll give it all back to you. What can we give to the King? Give to the One who has ev’ rything? What can we give, what gift can we bring? What can we give to the King? What can we give to the King? Child 1: One of the most important signs of Christmas is the cross (A child appears holding a cross) Child 2: You might think the sign of the cross does not belong in Christmas. But, Christmas also happened on the cross as Jesus gave His life to pay the price for our sins. Child 3: To truly experience Christmas, you must have Jesus living inside you. Child 4: With Jesus, you can have real love. Child 5: With Jesus, you can have truth and life. Child 6: Make this Christmas really wonderful by thinking of Jesus and what he did for you. Signs of Christmas 8 Christmas Isn’t Christmas (Till it happens in your heart) Christmas isn’t Christmas till it happens in your heart; Somewhere deep inside you is where Christmas really starts. So give your heart to Jesus; you’ll discover when you do; That it’s Christmas, really Christmas for you. Jesus brings warmth like a winter fire, A light like a candle’s glow. He’s waiting now to come inside As He did so long ago. Jesus brings gifts of truth and life, And makes them bloom and grow. So welcome Him with a song of joy, And when He comes, you’ll know That Christmas isn’t Christmas till it happens in your heart; Somewhere deep inside you is where Christmas really starts. So give your heart to Jesus; you’ll discover when you do That it’s Christmas, really Christmas, Christmas, really Christmas for you.
