Oh, that will never happen to me. Unfortunately, many people believe this and continue to engage in unprotected sex risking not only pregnancy but the possi- bility of contracting any number of sexually transmitted diseases. "Birth control is a positive choice that you make when you decide to have inter- course — that you will accept responsibili- ty," Joanne Navin, clinic coordinator of the Student Health Center, said. Although Navin finds many students are still embarrassed to show concern about contraception, this is not the case outside of University boundaries. Barbara O'Brien, program manager and nurse practitioner at Planned Parenthood in Bowling Creen, reports a definite in- crease over prior years in the number of new patients requesting birth control. Planned Parenthood provides clinical diagnosis and treatment of sexually trans- mitted diseases, birth control counseling and routine physical exams. A mid-life program for older women is also in the works. "We are trying to give reproductive health care to women of all ages," O'Brien said. Because the organization gives birth control to minors without parental consent and is pro-choice. O'Brien said it is visual- ized as controversial organization. Plenty of these elements are present on Let It Bee, the debut album from the Eng- lish/American outfit Voice of the Beehive. These elements are there, just not all of the time. And that's the only significant flaw on this otherwise impressive first outing. "Beat of Love" is probably the track that is most representative of VOB's style. A BIG bass line keeps the sucker from going anywhere other than where VOB wants it to go, which is right into a wall of screaming guitars and sadomasochistic lyrics ("...You take my heart and you beat it/And the beat of love goes on," "The beat of love is a nasty onerrhere's all kinds of ways to get banged"). California natives Tracey Bryn and Mel- issa Brooke blend their voices into a seamless, mellifluous whole.
