RECREATION GROUND The Recreation Ground on Lower Road is accessed from West Hill Road South. There is a well-equipped children's play area, tennis court, a new MUGA (multi-user-games-area), ball walls, Skate Park, BMX track and an outdoor GYM. The car park has facilities for recycling bottles, clothes and shoes.

Now trading in our 6th year, yes I know! 5 years, we can hardly believe it either; they have gone by so quickly but still thoroughly enjoying the challenge and continuing to strive for the very best store with great produce and where possible from local sources.
All of our long established suppliers continue into 2019 with the exception of Brimfield’s Fruit and Veg, Ross has sadly had to call it a day but he has been kind enough to put us in contact with his wholesaler so the quality fruit and veg you have come to expect from our store continues.
• Gluten Free range – This department was added in 2017 and has grown from strength to strength, providing a diverse range of products. Gluten free bread is now carried in store and that range has also grown considerably. • Fresh meat supplied from Soles Butchers of Alresford and Jon Thorner’s of Somerset, available instore or to order weekly. • Fresh artisan bread from Happy Toast Bakery delivered Monday – Saturday. All breads and cakes are available to order daily by 2.30pm for next day delivery. • Fresh bread delivered from Warburton’s - Monday – Saturday. • Fresh dairy produce from Clarkes Dairy – Delivered daily and sourced across Hampshire. • Jon Thorner’s Home-made range, Deli cooked meats and cheeses are available daily and to order in store. Customers are coming to our store from as far as Southampton and Salisbury to purchase the amazing range available for this supplier. • Stationery, Greeting Cards from two local suppliers. • A great selection of chilled Beers, Wines, Gins and many other Spirits available,
All fresh bread, fruit/veg and meats are available to order weekly should you require it.
The Post Office continues to provide the village and surrounding areas with a vital service. You can still access all of the same services you have been used to Monday – Saturday. Free cash withdrawals from all major UK banks + all the usual Post Office Services, Car Tax, Travel Insurance and Bureau de change to name just a few.

ASSOCIATIONS, CLUBS AND FACILITIES SOUTH WONSTON TWINNING ASSOCIATION South Wonston and La Frénaye, a village in Normandy, have been twinned for over 30 years La Frénaye is approximately 25 miles east of Le Havre. The area is predominantly agricultural and the village has a population approximately half of South Wonston’s. Our aim is to foster a relationship between South Wonston and La Frénaye to better understand the different cultural, recreational, educational and commercial activities of our twinned communities. Over the years, friendships have developed between members of the association and the reciprocal organisation in La Frénaye. On alternate years, we visit La Frénaye and the surrounding area or host guests from there on the intermediate years. SOUTH WONSTON ALLOTMENTS The temporary allotment site at the corner of West Hill Road North and Alresford Drove has a mix of full plots (approx. 12 metres by 12 metres) and half plots available for rental. Plot holders currently
grow a range of vegetables, fruit and flowers. The site is a temporary site and as such does not have a permanent water provision and no permanent structures are permitted. SOUTH WONSTON VILLAGE HALL You can hire the Village Hall for parties, dinners, weddings, quiz nights, skittles evenings, conferences, public meetings, fund-raising events, film shows and PowerPoint presentations. We have a large screen, cinema projector with Blu-ray players, computer connections and full surround sound available if required. The hourly rates from September 2018 range from £14.50 to £19.50 for the Main Hall or for the smaller Downs Room from £7.15 to £9.60, depending on the time of the day and use. Preferential rates are available for the hire of the entire hall and for regular meetings held at least monthly during the year. Use of the kitchen is included in the charge. On the third Saturday of each month we show recently released films except Dec. July and August at 2.30pm and 7.30pm. Ticket prices are just £5.00 bought in advance from the Village Shore or £6.00 on the door. There is easy access for wheelchair users and a toilet for disabled people has recently been installed. The Hall is the centre of a range of interesting activities in the Village, come along join in.
