Welcome to all our members for this year’s annual report. The 2013 season was one of the most challenging in the club's history. The strength and resolve of a club is most tested through hard times after the results of 2012 and our team and staff should be congratulated on how they have handled themselves this past year. Led by head coach Leo Epifania, the teams' ability to focus on the field and reach the grand final qualifier was an outstanding effort. Leo was ably assisted by a strong group of support staff headed by Steve Reeves as General Manager of the football club, with these 2 individuals driving our success it shows what great results were achieved. In Coordination with this was the Wests Magpies core group of football assistants and support staff with, Dave and Valerie McEwen who did on outstanding job as usual with training and game days.

  • Manly-Warringah Rugby League Football Club Limited Annual Report 2014
MANLY-WARRINGAH RUGBY LEAGUE FOOTBALL CLUB LIMITED ANNUAL REPORT 2014 CHAIRMAN’S REPORT It is with pleasure that I present this Annual Report 2014 to Football Club Members. 2014 saw our great Club end the regular season in equal first place on the ladder and reach our 10th successive finals series, confirming the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles as the most successful team of the decade. Although a loss, the comeback effort against the Canterbury-Bulldogs in the semi-final was nothing short of courageous, especially given the toll of disruption, injuries and suspensions. Geoff Toovey, his coaching staff, recruitment team and of course the players are to be congratulated on another great season. Under often trying circumstances they showed the same determination and winning culture that has been the trademark of the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles, and all members should be incredibly proud of our team and their achievements. The salary cap that plays a key part in our game has unfortunately meant it is difficult for successful clubs to retain all their players. It is disappointing that the NRL does not adequately reward clubs like Manly who have managed to retain a group of loyal and long- serving players. This year the Sea Eagles had no less than seven players who have played first grade continuously with the Club for eight years or more, yet receive the same financial bonus as a club with just one. It is therefore with great sadness that we farewell a number of our players who have played a key part of the team’s ongoing success.

Sir Peter Leitch Club AT MT SMART STADIUM, HOME OF THE MIGHTY VODAFONE WARRIORS 27th September 2017 Newsletter #189 I Only Saw Half Of That Coming By David Kemeys Former Sunday Star-Times Editor, Former Editor-in-Chief Suburban Newspapers, Long Suffering Warriors Fan HE STORM were always going to get past the Broncos, but I was convinced the Cowboys had exhausted Ttheir luck, and tenacity, and would fall to the Roosters. Boy was I wrong – a new experience for me. There is no way the Cowboys should have made it to the big dance, it defies all logic. They were not even in the eight on the final day of the season, needing the Bulldogs, who were crap all year, to beat the Dragons on the last day – a result few predicted. But they have hung on like leeches in their run to the final, as we all predicted their demise. No side from eight, wins it, the experts say, especially not a Cowboys outfit without Johnathan Thurston. No one told them about Michael Morgan then. He was outstanding against the Roosters, the second best side all year – and the second best on Saturday night too. The other Cowboy who earned every penny of his salary was Jason Taumalolo – and fair play, I have often questioned whether anyone is worth that kind of money. I confess I was hoping the Roosters would make it, because they were 15th last year, which at least gives me some hope we could engineer that kind of turnaround, and we also beat them this year at Mt Smart, so if they were NRL champions, at least we could say we beat them.
