Hillhouse Technology Enterprise Planning Background Zone Masterplan An outline planning consent was secured for the site in 2011 that included a new food store (A1), retail units (A1 & A2), community centre (D1 & D2), residential (C3) and various uses within Classes A3 to A5.

In 2013, full planning permission was approved for a food store with a gross internal area of 81,483 sq ft, a petrol filling station and 476 parking spaces. Both consents have now expired, but the principle of development of the site is now firmly established through the grant of the above permissions.

In 2019, the Hillhouse Technology Enterprise Zone Masterplan was adopted by the local Council.
