Lors de ses études, il a joué pour l’équipe de basketball de l’Université de Donetsk. En 2013, il devient le Président de l’AS Monaco Basket alors que l’équipe évolue en NM1 (3ème division nationale). La saison suivante, les Monégasques remportent la NM1, accédant à la Pro B puis l’année d’après directement à la Pro A. Grâce à son investissement, la Roca Team a remporté 3 Leaders Cup consécutives (2016, 2017 et 2018) et atteint deux fois desuite les finales des play-offs du Championnat de France (2018 et 2019).
