ADMISSION TO INFANT/PRIMARY SCHOOL INITIAL ALLOCATION STATEMENT FOR ON-TIME APPLICATIONS ALMONDSBURY PRIMARY SCHOOL - SEPTEMBER 2018 As Almondsbury Primary School was over-subscribed, it was necessary to use South Gloucestershire Council’s admission criteria, as published in ‘Admission to Primary Schools in South Gloucestershire September 2018 – August 2019’, to allocate the places available at the school. 107 applications were received by the 15 January 2018 for Almondsbury Primary School which has an admission number of 45. How the initial allocation of places was made: 14 Local Siblings; (within the Area of Prime Responsibility (APR)). 18 Children who live within the APR. 13 Children who live closest to the school; the furthest distance offered a place under this criterion was 1.796 miles. A total of 18 refusals have been made. Please note that some applications may have been either withdrawn by the parents/carers, or discounted where a higher preference of school has been offered. Distances from home to school are measured in a direct line between the address point of the child’s home and a central point within the main school buildings using the Local Authority’s computerised mapping system. Can I remain on a waiting list for my preferred school(s)? Yes. The waiting lists will be maintained until the end of Term 2 (December). CLASS SIZE PREJUDICE APPEALS – Effects of Infant Class Size Legislation: Appeals for Almondsbury Primary School will be heard on the basis of Infant Class Size Prejudice where relevant measures would have to be taken not in September 2018, as the school will organise with two small discrete Reception classes, but in future years. April 2018 Allocation Statement for Ashley Down Primary School - September 2018 As Ashley Down Primary School was oversubscribed, the criteria stated in the booklet ‘A Guide for parents and carers on applying for a primary school place for the school year 2018-2019' have been applied to allocate the places that are available at the school. 167 on-time applications (66 x 1st preferences, 33 x 2nd preferences, 68 x 3rd preferences) have been received for Ashley Down Primary School, which has an Admission Number of 60. How the Initial Allocation of Places was made The 60 places have been offered to the following children: 1. Those children who are defined as 'Children in Care'; or children who were previously in care, but immediately after being in care became subject to an adoption, child arrangements, or special guardianship order.
