Journey times to Royal Infirmary, Lightburn and Hospital

Journey time was analysed using Strathclyde Passenger Transport and Google Maps websites and was based on elderly inpatient data from March 2015 to April 2016 using postcode areas were more than 50 people attended in that year.

Lightburn Hospital Visitors Travel Survey

We carried out a snapshot survey of visitors to Lightburn What mode of transport visitors used Hospital inpatient wards over a one week period when we spoke to a total of 40 people to better understand:  26 came by car  6 came by bus  Where visitors travel from  4 came by taxi  What mode of transport they used  4 came by foot  Who they were visiting and how often

All inpatients in Lightburn Hospital are transferred there from Of the 29 from the North and East of Glasgow 15 came by car the Glasgow Royal Infirmary. The Glasgow Royal Infirmary and all those travelling by bus, taxi or on foot came from the serves a large geographical area across North and East North and East of the city. Glasgow and East Dunbartonshire. Who were they visiting and how often Where Visitors travelled from  37 were visiting a family member  29 came from the North East of Glasgow  3 were visiting friends  4 came from East Dunbartonshire Of the 29 from the North and East of Glasgow 28 were visiting  7 came from outwith NHSGGC a family member and 1 was visiting a friend Visitors travelled between 0.5 miles and 49 miles to get to Lightburn Hospital with the average distance travelled being 5 miles.

Of the 29 from the North East of Glasgow they travelled between 0.5 and 7 miles with the average being 2 miles.

What about Stobhill Hospital?

If all visitors were going to Stobhill Hospital they would have travelled between 2.5 and 47.5 miles with the average being 7.5 miles.

For the 29 visitors from the North East of Glasgow they would have travelled between 3 and 11 miles with the average being 5 miles. Where Visitors Travelled from to Lightburn Hospital
