Prof. Dr. Murat Sönmez Middle East Technical University Northern Cyprus Campus Güzelyurt / TRNC Mersin Turkey Keynote Title: The role of academics for engineers to enable them to fulfil their expected roles in sustainable development Abstract: The adverse environmental impact of global warming has been accepted by the scientific community. Equally well documented is the catalysing effect of fossil fuel consumption on global warming through greenhouse gas emissions. The focus of scientific and engineering research has inevitably drifted from achieving high output at any energy cost to accomplishing required work with minimum energy consumption. Large international companies have embraced “going green”, not only due to the positive public image repercussions of being environmentally friendly but also competitive advantages from reduced manufacturing costs. Nowadays, it is a very important and widespread mission to achieve organizational objectives at minimum energy, material, and water consumption and correspondingly at minimum cost, by supplying energy at the lowest available price, managing energy consumption at peak efficiency, and utilizing the most appropriate technology, finding the optimum shape and size for a product for having a sustainable world. After having national and international decisions and policies of country executives, engineers find their roles again at the conceptual design, detailed design, manufacturing, and maintenance stages. This article highlights that a sustainable world requires welleducated engineers with fresh ideas, analytical approaches, interdisciplinary research and development skills, and subjects not only the role of engineers but also that of academics in sustainable development. Key Words: Sustainable development, Engineering education Bio: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Sönmez, was born in Ankara, Turkey, in 1959. He received his PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU), in 1995. He worked as a research engineer, a teaching assistant and then an instructor for METU (Ankara Campus) between 1981- 2007. Currently, he is a full-time faculty member in the Mechanical Engineering Program at METU Northern Cyprus Campus. His main research interests include energy saving, energy management, technical education, computer aided design and manufacturing. He is editor in chief of World Journal of Environmental Research, member of Research and Publication Ethics Committee of METU NCC, and one of the members of the editorial board of the Science PG- Educational Journal. He is also one of thepeer reviewers of Science PG- American Journal of Energy Engineering, and that of British Educational Research Journal. Prof. Dr. Özcan Asilkan Metropolitan University of Tirana Tirana, Albania Keynote Title: Understanding the Digital Transformation Abstract: Are you ready for Digital Transformation? Do you really know where to start, how to proceed and manage the change? There is no longer any doubt about whether the businesses should realize the digital transformation. Any business that wants to survive or increase profitability in today’s highly competitive marketplace must definitely go digital to satisfy the increasing expectations of its customers. The main concern for digital transformation should be how correct and efficient to realize it. Performing a right digital transformation is crucial for all organizations. Researches show that most of them fail the transformation when they primarily focus on IT investment. In fact, digital transformation is a complete transition that affects all areas of a business. It must start with a thorough understanding of the philosophy of digitalization and continue with modification of the current business plans to a new digital business model. When done right, it modifies the way organization works along with significant changes. That requires a thorough understanding of change management. Companies doing the digital transformation in the right way will be surviving and becoming more profitable while others will be disappointed. This keynote will present the core issues on digital transformation to understand it better and implement successfully. Bio: Prof. Dr. Özcan Asilkan is an experienced professor and computer engineer with a demonstrated academic and professional experience in universities and industry. His research interests focus on Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Database Systems, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Health Informatics and Hospitality. With more than 20 years of academic and business expertise, he has held many engagements throughout the world like Turkey, Germany, North Cyprus, Albania, North Macedonia, etc. As computer engineer, he worked at various positions like System Analyst, Database Administrator, Application Developer and Consultant. As academic, he founded and chaired the departments of Computer Engineering and Management Information Systems in various universities. He chaired several international conferences and took part as Keynote speaker in several others. In addition to his native tongue (Turkish), he also knows fluent English and intermediate German. Since September 2019 he has been working as the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and IT at Metropolitan University of Tirana in

Dear ISAIA2015 Participant, We would like to welcome you to Girne American University. GAU’s goal is to become a University with and without walls, a University located in time and place but unhampered by constraints in the fulfillment of its mission. To do this, GAU maintains constant awareness of the impact of technology and how it changes knowledge and learning. GAU evaluates its courses, and programs to be sure that the curriculum and learning strategies reflect these changes. Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, which was established in 1992, was separated into two faculties in 2009. Faculty of Engineering started to function from 2009-2010 academic year on. Faculty of Engineering aims to educate fully qualified engineers in all aspects. In today’s competitive environment, the engineers who are the graduates of GAU Faculty of Engineering, are aimed to be fully equipped with contemporary engineering skills. The vision of Faculty of Engineering is to become comprehensive, distinct faculty that is recognized both nationally and internationally in engineering teaching, research and development. The mission is to create and disseminate knowledge through creative inquiry, to provide the high standards in engineering education and to serve our students by teaching them how to become contemporary engineers who are culturally informed and well equipped with technological skills. In carrying out its mission, Faculty of Engineering commits to continually evaluating, improving and evolving its programs and stimulates meaningful research and service to community by which they belong to. As a result of the continous quality improvement studies, Faculty of Engineering was awarded ASIIN Accreditation in December 2012 for Computer, Electrical and Electronics and Industrial Engineering Departments.

The grid-connected PV systems and stand-alone PV The rises in the world population and energy demand have systems are the most widely used configurations among all encouraged the scientific researchers to investigate the types of PV systems[3]. renewable energies’ potential, practically solar energy in the world. The solar rooftop photovoltaic system is considered as Various studies have been investigated the PV system a possible source for electricity generation for small performance. Dondariya et al., [4] examined the feasibility of households. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate on-grid rooftop PV system for small household building in the feasibility of on-grid photovoltaic (PV) system for Civil India using four-simulation software. Moreover, Charfi et al., and Environmental Engineering faculty in Near East [5] studied experimentally the performance of PV system with University. This study is focused on the use of PVGIS as different inclination angles. Shukla et al. [6] investigated the simulation tool to analyze the performance of 110kW PV feasibility of on-grid rooftop PV system for residential hostel system and compared the performance of different PV building at MANIT using Solargis PV Planner software.
