Knight Center - Akron, Ohio 28 OWEA Webinar Central Ohio Children’s Water Festival Cindy Jacobsen, OWEA’s Publicity Chair, will work with the May 2011 Columbus Department of Public Utilities and other water related 5 Collecti on Systems Workshop organizations to assist with the 2011 Central Ohio Children’s 11 Executi ve Committ ee Meeti ng Water Festival, scheduled for May 5th. In 2010, over 400 24 2011 Ohio Operati ons Challenge and fi fth grade students and teachers were hosted for water related presentations, demonstrations, and hands-on activities. OWEA Hands-On Operator Training Day will provide information on keeping undesirable products and materials out of the wastewater stream. Please contact Cindy at June 2011 [email protected] if you would like to help. 20 OWEA Annual Golf Event Contact Hour Tracking 20 Executi ve Committ ee Meeti ng President-Elect Doug Clark is spearheading the effort to automate 21-23 Annual Conference and Exhibit Expo OWEA’s contact hour tracking program, which will allow attendees of OWEA training events to track their contact hours via the OWEA website. This system will be phased in during July 2011 the 2011 year. Watch for the badge scanners at an upcoming 28 OWEA Webinar workshop this year. ABC Conference Certifi cation Chair Kathy Cook and Secretary/Treasurer Jane August 2011 Winkler attended the Association of Boards of Certifi cation 5 NWOWEA Secti on Meeti ng Conference in Phoenix, AZ January 25-28. The ABC Conference 25 OWEA Webinar focuses on certifi ers serving on the front lines of protecting public health and the environment. September 2011 OWEA Intern 21-22 Plant Ops/Lab Analysts Workshop Keith Justice, a senior Ohio State University 29 OWEA Webinar student, is serving an internship at OWEA during winter quarter and earning class credit for his efforts.
