Airport Transfer We recommend participants to take regular metered taxi from Airport to the hotel which is very convenient and safe. Taxi fare would be around SGD 25-35 depending on the hour. Payment by credit card or cash. It will take about 25-30 minutes to reach the hotel.

Foreign Exchange Rate and Banking The monetary unit of Singapore is Singapore Dollar (SGD). Singaporean currency consists of 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c and $1 coins and 2, 5, 10, 50, 100, 1000 dollar notes. (1 USD = SGD 1.44) Internationally recognized credit cards including VISA< AMEX, Master Card and JCB can be used to get cash advance in Singapore Dollar at ATMs installed at airports, major hotels and convenience store.

Tipping Tipping is not a general Singaporean custom. A 17% service charge is added to your bill automatically at all hotels and restaurants. Therefore tipping is not expected.

Electricity and Voltage The standard voltage in Singapore is 220V/240V, 50 Hz. If you have equipment that runs on a higher voltage, you should not connect it to Singaporean power unless you have the correct transformer (voltage adaptor). Singapore uses the British BS1363 three-pronged square pin type socket.
