PUGH MAYOR OF BALTIMORE Baltimore. This Must Be the Place. Amazon will have a great impact on the city chosen for Amazon HQ2, but that city will have a great impact on Amazon. The right city must have a talented workforce, a passion for innovation, a commitment to diversity and inclusion, and environmentally-friendly and sustainable design. The city you choose will share Amazon’s culture and values; Amazon and its HQ2 city will share in each other’s momentum. Baltimore, as you will see, is a city on the rise like no other. When it comes to Amazon HQ2, I am confident you will agree ‘This Must Be the Place.’ Baltimore is located at the epicenter of talent, education and innovation, borne out of its strategic, central location in the heart of the Northeast Corridor of the United States, and decades of collaboration between government, private enterprise, academia, the military and venture capital. As port and rail traffic blends with fiber-optic connections, makerspaces and tech start- ups, Baltimore is the only city with the grit, history and innovative spirit to lead the synergistic union of American commerce and technology for the 21st century.

  • Apollo 11 Lunar Landing Mission Press Kit, Part 2
-lOl- The ascent stage engine compartment is formed by two beams running across the lower midsection deck and mated to the fore and aft bulkheads. Systems located in the midsection include the LM guidance computer, the power and servo assembly, ascent engine propellant tanks, RCS pro- pellant tanks, the environmental control system, and the waste management section. A tunnel ring atop the ascent stage meshes with the command module docking latch assemblies. During docking, the CM docking ring and latches are aligned by the LM drogue and the CSM probe. The dockingtunnel extends downward into the midsection 16 inches (40 cm). The tunnel is B2 inches (0.81 cm) in dia- meter and Is used for crew transfer between the CSM and LM. The upper hatch on the inboard end of the docking tunnel hinges downward and cannot be opened with the LM pressurized and u_docked. A thermal and mlcrometeoroid shield of multiple layers of mylar and a single thickness of thin aluminum skin encases the entire ascent stage structure. Descent Stase The descent stage consists of a cruciform load-carrylng structure of two pairs of parallel beams, upper and lower decks, and enclosure bulkheads -- all of conventional skln-and-strlnger aluminum alloy construction. The center compartment houses the descent engine, and descent propellant tanks are housed in the four square bays around the engine. The descent stage measures i0 feet 7 inches high by 14 feet 1 inch in diameter. Four-legged truss outriggers mounted on the ends of each pair of beams serve as SLA attach points and as "knees" for the landing gear main struts.

Chesapeake Bayhawks Beat Denver Outlaws 14-13 Posted by TBN On 05/08/2011 Annapolis, MD. - The Chesapeake Bayhawks of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) hosted the Denver Outlaws in a tightly contested pre-season game Saturday evening at Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, MD. After trailing the entire game, the Bayhawks scored two goals in the final minute to complete the come back and win 14-13. The Bayhawks were led by Blake Miller’s three goal effort which included the game tying goal.“It was a great team effort tonight,” said Bayhawks Head Coach Brendan Kelly following the victory. “I was happy to see how we came out in the second half. Everybody really came together and we jelled as a team. Just a really great effort.” The Outlaws opened the game drawing first blood in the early minutes. The Bayhawks responded with their first goal from Midfielder Michael Kimmel, but Denver countered with three straight goals to take a 4-1 lead. Chesapeake cut the lead in half with the first of Miller’s three goals to close out the first quarter trailing 4-2. Miller continued to keep the Bayhawks in the game with his second goal early in the second frame. Miller is one of the Bayhawks newest arrivals as the Bayhawks selected him from the player pool in April. The second quarter was back and forth as both teams found their scoring touch. The half closed with a goal from Kimmel in the final five seconds to bring the game to 8-5. Chesapeake continued to chip away in the third quarter, closing the score to 10-9.

  • Major League Lacrosse and CONNY Youth Lacrosse Ask Athletes "What Does Lacrosse Mean to You"
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Paige Gadsby, MLL [email protected] Major League Lacrosse and CONNY Youth Lacrosse Ask Athletes "What Does Lacrosse Mean To You" Eight winners from the essay contest will be part of the Semi-Final Game in Fairfield, CT Boston, MA (April 5, 2016) - What does lacrosse mean to you? One simple question can ultimately give eight kids the chance of a lifetime: the chance to be a part of a Major League Lacrosse (MLL) Semi-Final Game. MLL announced today an essay contest in conjunction with CONNY Youth Lacrosse (CONNY) that will give youth lacrosse players the opportunity to participate as a ball boy/girl during the 2016 Semi-Final Game at Rafferty Stadium at Fairfield University on Saturday, August 13. “We’re excited to be working closely with CONNY again, on this Semi-Final Game and providing kids the opportunity through this essay contest to be part of the action so close to the field,” says MLL Commissioner David Gross. The essay contest is open to all youth lacrosse players ages 12 and up. Those interested in the chance to join the playoff action must submit an essay of up to 500 words, double-spaced, answering the question, “What does lacrosse mean to you?” Jack Couch, Secretary of CONNY Lacrosse, will review the submitted essays and a selection committee will choose eight deserving winners. “CONNY is thrilled to be teaming with the MLL once again on our essay contest," says President Emeritus of CONNY Bob Russell. "The opportunity for all of our players and their families to be gifted with the chance to not only watch the best lacrosse players in the world compete, but to be an integral part of the game will make for an amazing experience.” CONNY is one of the preeminent volunteer-run associations for youth lacrosse in the United States.
