LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (March 6, 2015) – The (1-2) continued the first week of their game schedule with a 9-8 loss to the division foe Washington Nationals (2-0) at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex on Friday, March 6.

Left-hander Alex Wood took the mound for the Braves in his first start of the spring and surrendered two runs in two innings of work. Pedro Ciriaco hit the team’s first homerun of the spring on a solo shot in the third inning, then first baseman Freddie Freeman added a two-run homerun in the fifth. Nationals pitcherJordan Zimmermann threw two innings for the visiting club, surrendering just one hit and no earned runs, while outfielderTyler Moore clubbed a two-run homerun and three RBI triple in the win.
