ADELAIDE Melbourne NEWCASTLE SYDNEY BRISBANE OzHarvest BOOK OF THANKS Annual Report 2013 THANKs a million ozharvest is constantly surrounded by magnificent individuals and organisations from volunteers, in-kind sponsors, food and financial donors and ambassadors who give their services, time money, food or goods so generously. This support allows OzHarvest to continue doing what we do — that is rescue food, redistribute it to people in need and continue to educate people about food waste, the environment, sustainability and food security. We must recognise some incredible organisations that go above and beyond and continue to help us, so that we can help our most vulnerable Australians. As we have thousands of supporters who are so important and who we would like to recognise, we have again created this Book of Thanks to acknowledge each and every one of you. Please forgive us if we have missed your name, and please do tell us so that we can ensure it appears in our Book of Thanks next year. Thank you everyone for everything you’ve done for OzHarvest. Without your help — we would not exist. There are some extra special superheroes we must mention. • FOODSERVICE 2003 Inside the Kitchen: How to Grow Your Business in the Restaurant and Café Sector
FOODSERVICE 2003 Inside the Kitchen: How to grow your business in the restaurant and café sector November 25th 2003 Coriolis Research Ltd. is a strategic market research firm founded in 1997 and based in Auckland, New Zealand. Coriolis primarily works with clients in the food and fast moving consumer goods supply chain, from primary producers to retailers. In addition to working with clients, Coriolis regularly produces reports on current industry topics. Recent reports have included an overview of the growth of private label and an analysis of the strategies of the major Australasian supermarket retailers. The coriolis force, named for French physicist Gaspard Coriolis (1792-1843), may be seen on a large scale in the movement of winds and ocean currents on the rotating earth. It dominates weather patterns, producing the counterclockwise flow observed around low-pressure zones in the Northern Hemisphere and the clockwise flow around such zones in the Southern Hemisphere. It is the result of a centripetal force on a mass moving with a velocity radially outward in a rotating plane. In market research it means understanding the big picture before you get into the details. PO BOX 10 202, Mt. • Sydney's Must-Do Food Experiences
Sydney’s must-do food experiences The food fun never stops in Sydney, and October might just be the best time to put on your eating pants, strap on your drinking shoes, set your cap and get into it. With the Crave Sydney International Food Festival in town, there’s no better time to get out and explore all the fabulous food experiences on offer. Below are just a very few of our favourite edible adventures – try them out and add your own. The genesis of the Canto-stralian style Billy Kwong, 355 Crown St, Surry Hills, 02 9332 3300 Over the past decade, Kylie Kwong has built an enviable reputation for her restaurant Billy Kwong (and became something of a celebrity herself along the way) cooking home-style Chinese-inspired food with the very best ingredients she could lay her hands on. This year, that focus on ingredients has taken an even more interesting turn: Kwong now departs significantly from the Cantonese canon by shifting the focus to the sorts of native Australian ingredients not typically seen on Australian tables, let alone Hong Kong. That equates to steamed dumplings made with Spencer Gulf prawns and sea parsley, deep-fried garfish garnished with jewels of finger-lime, and crisp-skinned pasture-fed duck with a sauce made from quandongs and orange. It’s different, but most importantly, it’s delicious. The sweetest finale at Quay Quay, upper level, Overseas Passenger Terminal, The Rocks, 02 9251 5600 Quay chef Peter Gilmore’s desserts have become fixtures of critics’ must-eat lists over the years.
