1. Why the Win 10 Update?

As a recommended OS update from , allows AMI to add more powerful features in the future and improve jukebox performance. All features currently available will continue to be supported on XP.

2. Which AMI cores are supported for Win 10?

NGX Mini (since April 2014), NGX Mini2, Continental, NGX Ultra, and the NGX Infinity.

3. Can I still buy and run XP?

New AMI Jukeboxes will transition to Win 10 in the coming weeks. As an operator, there is no advantage in buying a new jukebox with an older .

4. How long will AMI continue to support XP?

AMI has no end date set for XP support. For the foreseeable future, all new features to the jukebox network will be released on Win XP and Win 10. AMI will support upgrading existing jukeboxes to Win 10 (some model restrictions apply).

5. What happens if a Win 10 drive fails? Do I now need to keep both versions in the truck?

If a Win 10 drive fails, you should have a spare Win 10 drive to replace it with. However, in case you don’t have a spare Win 10 SSD on the truck, you may use a Win XP drive.

6. Can I get Win 10 on a rotational drive?

AMI does not support Win 10 on rotational drives, as this fails to deliver the desired performance.

7. How will an operator know which jukebox is Win 10 or XP?

Solid State Drives: Win 10 is only available on SSDs. AMI Does not support Win 10 on rotational drives.

There are two ways to confirm if you are running Win 10 from the jukebox software.

Jukebox Service Screen: Go to Service ScreenDiagnosticsSystem Information. All Win 10 jukeboxes start with version 10.x

Jukebox Logo: Click on the AMI logo for any AMI jukebox and see the third field for software version. All Win 10 jukeboxes start with version 10.x

8. What is the behavior of a jukebox when you put a Win 10 Drive on a B75 Core with no additional memory?

It should report an Error. Be advised: Unauthorized installation of a Win 10 drive in an existing XP licensed jukebox is a violation of Microsoft licensing policies and is strictly prohibited!

9. What is the behavior of a jukebox when you put a Win 10 drive on an 815, 915, or ITX core?

It should fail and report an Error.

10. What is the behavior of a jukebox when you put a Win XP drive on a B75 Core with Extra Memory?

No change. It should work the same as it did before the Win 10 update.

11. I already have a Win XP SSD(s). Can I just upgrade the OS on them to Win 10?

No. The AMI Supplied Windows 10 Upgrade kit contains the Microsoft license certificate necessary to run Windows 10 as part of the jukebox software. Using a cloned version of Windows 10 on a former Windows XP hard drive is a violation of the existing Microsoft XP license tied to the jukebox and is not permitted.

12. I already have a lot of Win XP SSDs. Can I exchange them for Win 10 SSDs?
