Conegué a Vicente Wenceslao Querol i foren grans amics literaris.

  • Barrington Dream: Quality Marine Services with Guarantees
Barrington Dream: Quality Marine Services with Guarantees Barrington Dream, acting under its brand and the trademark "La Reina Azul" is a Spanish marine services company with over ten years of experience, dedicated to charter boat sales, technical services and maintenance, as well as its Official Sailing School. Marina Deportiva de Alicante Our Base is located in Alicante's Marina, one of the most modern and better-serviced marinas of the Spanish East Coast, located in the South-East of Spain, on the Mediterranean Coast. From our port-base and over a one hundred-mile radius, we reach destinations such as the Natural Seabed Reserve of Tabarca, the islet of Benidorm, or sailing destinations such as Santa Pola, Villajoyosa, Altea, Benidorm, Calpe or Benissa, Cabo de San Antonio, the Nao, Moraira or the impressive "Peñón de Ifach". Islote Benidorm Isla de Tabarca Beach Isla de Tabarca Castillo de Santa Bárbara y ciudad de Alicante Also, the proximity of Ibiza and Formentera and the Mar Menor make Alicante a particularly attractive base for sea lovers. Muelle en ses Illetes, Formentera Formentera with Ibiza at the back Part of our business success is due to the sailing weather in the area - highly valued by the organizers of the America's Cup and the Volvo Ocean Race, along with the excellent microclimate enjoyed by the Alicante area, with an average of 300 sunny days per year. From May to October, we enjoy easterly winds, which make for very pleasant cruises. They are tempered winds, since they come from the sea. From November to April, the "whisky" westerly winds are more dominant, and a bit more intense than the previous winds but, since they come from the land, do not cause waves and also make for very pleasant sailing.

COSTA NEWS, October 30-November 5, 2015 Page 57 Anglo Spanish Association visits Segovia, Salamanca and Ciudad Rodrigo October 4 saw 29 members of the Anglo Spanish Associ- ation led by Chairman, David Decker depart on a once in a lifetime trip to Segovia, Salamanca and Ciudad Ro- drigo Members had an opportunity to explore Segovia, the cathedral and the Roman Aqueduct before setting off for Salamanca, via Avila, stopping at a mirador outside of Avila to take photos of the magnificent battlements which completely surround the old city. As a result of this many of our members decided that on a free day in Salamanca, they would travel by train to Avila to ex- plore it further. Salamanca is a city founded in pre-Roman times, but first developed by the Romans in the first century BC. The name 'golden city' is a reference to the stone which almost every building is built from, having the same golden colour which you find in buildings in Bath They stayed at the Parador in Salamanca with many of the rooms offering spectacular uninterrupted views over the old city. The next day the guide starting at the Plaza Mayor, walked them all through the 'golden city' with the group gleaning many interesting facts about the buildings and sites. Lunch was at the delightful Res- taurant Le Sablon in the centre of the city, new small museum in the city walls, and enjoyed a talk encamped, and moved off to be attacked in the flank by They then visited the twin cathedrals, the Monastery by the curator on the history of the town and shown a the British and Portuguese Armies.
