Nancy was one of three women who founded the NDWBA in 1974 while running the women’s invitational tournament part of the men’s National Deaf Bowling Association’s World Deaf Bowling Championship at Colorado Springs. She made up all the rules and by-laws for the start of NDWBA in 1975 and got herself elected as its first secretary-treasurer and tournament director. Nancy Buckmaster remained in that office for 11 years during which she helped establish the NDWBA Hall of Fame. After she and four other women were the first persons inducted in this Hall f Fame in 1979, Nancy took over as the Hall of Fame chairlady. She was highly respected for her services as an officer and tournament director so later Nancy Buckmaster got her highest honor be- ing inducted into National Deaf Bowling Hall of Fame as a leader at Reno in 1999. ROGER SELLERS, McGehee, Arkansas, the last secretary-treasurer of National Deaf Bowl- ing Association passed away last September at 72. While living in Fort Worth, TX Roger made his name known as major dynamo of Southwest Deaf Bowling.
