A movie version appeared in 1977, directed by Richard Attenborough and starring Dirk Bogarde, James Caan, Michael Caine, Sean Connery, Edward Fox, Anthony Hopkins, Gene Hackman, Hardy Krüger, Laurence Olivier, Robert Redford, and Maximilian Schell. Alden Library has both VHS and DVD versions of the movie.
