2017 ANNUAL REPORT Grand Prairie, Texas 75050 972-595-5000 2018 SIXFLAGS ANNUAL.pdf 1 3/1/18 1:32 PM Six Flags Entertainment Corporation 924 Avenue J East 2017 ANNUAL REPORT Grand Prairie, Texas 75050 972-595-5000 www.sixflags.com C M Y CM MY CY CMY K Dear Six Flags Shareholders, Six Flags has the strongest and most recognized brand in the very compelling regional theme park sector of the entertainment industry. We sit at the sweet spot of broad trends driving the “experience” and “membership” economies, while being insulated from the online threats impacting so many companies. I am very proud of our outstanding team members who overcame unprecedented natural events to deliver our eighth consecutive year of record financial performance in 2017. I am even more excited about our future as we continue to build our lucrative, recurring revenue base. In 2017, Adjusted EBITDA (1) grew two percent, and our Modified EBITDA (1) margin remained the industry high. We returned $727 million to shareholders in the form of stock repurchases and dividends and delivered a 16 percent total return. In addition, we increased our dividend twice since the third quarter 2017 to an annual run-rate of $3.12 per share. This marks our ninth consecutive year of dividend increases and provides a yield more than double the S&P 500, making us the ultimate growth and yield stock. Over the course of 2017, we made notable progress to advance all our five major growth areas: 1) Took pricing up 3-5 percent on all our tickets, while reaching new highs in our value-for-the- money-ratings and achieving the most successful pre-sale of season passes in company history; 2) Grew our Active Pass Base—the number of guests who have a season pass or who are enrolled in the company’s membership program—by 10% to a new all-time high, while growing the proportion of contractual revenue from memberships; 3) Increased penetration of our all season dining pass, leading to higher sales of our high-margin and lucrative culinary products; 4) Announced five additional theme parks in China, bringing our total to eight parks under development and demonstrating the momentum of our emergent international licensing business; and 5) Finally, as part of our new waterpark initiative, successfully opened two new waterparks near our theme parks in Mexico and Northern California, expanding our addressable market. Our exceptional track record is the direct result of everything our committed Six Flags team does to engage and build relationships with our guests, leading to loyalty, retention and longer and more frequent visitation. I have never been more confident about our strategy and future growth potential. Spirits are high as we remain focused and invigorated to achieve our aspirational target of $750 million of Modified EBITDA (1) by 2020. As always, I thank you for your continued trust and support. Jim Reid-Anderson Chairman, President and CEO Six Flags Entertainment Corporation (1) See the inside back cover of this annual report for the definition of Adjusted EBITDA and Modified EBITDA, and a reconciliation of these measures to U.S. GAAP financial measures. 5BCMFPG$POUFOUT 6/*5&%45"5&4 4&$63*5*&4"/%&9$)"/(&$0..*44*0/ 8BTIJOHUPO %$ '03., a "OOVBM3FQPSU1VSTVBOUUP4FDUJPOPS E Spain I. Introduction “The flag is the embodiment, not of sentiment, but of history. It represents the experiences made by men and women, the experiences of those who do and live under that flag.” Woodrow Wilson1 “FLAG, n. A colored rag borne above troops and hoisted on forts and ships. It appears to serve the same purpose as certain signs that one sees on vacant lots in London—‘Rubbish may be shot here.’” Ambrose Bierce2 The power of the flag as a national symbol was all too evident in the 1990s: the constitutional debate over flag burning in the United States; the violent removal of the communist seal from the Romanian flag; and the adoption of the former czarist flag by the Russian Federation. In the United States, Texas alone possesses a flag and seal directly descended from revolution and nationhood. The distinctive feature of INSIDE / SOMMAIRE Page both the state flag and seal, the Lone Star, is famous worldwide because of the brief Editor’s Note / Note de la rédaction 2 existence of the Republic of Texas (March 2, 1836, to December 29, 1845).3 For all Solid Vexillology 2 the Lone Star’s fame, however, there is much misinformation about it.

Md. Rule 1-104. — Unreported Opinion — ______________________________________________________________________________ This is an appeal from a final judgment entered in the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County in favor of appellees, Nicholaus Mims, et ux., against appellant, Six Flags America, L.P. A jury found Six Flags liable for injuries sustained by Mims during a security incident at the amusement park. Six Flags timely filed a motion for a new trial/remittitur, which was denied by the court. Six Flags noted this appeal and presents two questions, which we have slightly rephrased:1 1. Did the trial court err in admitting the response to a request for admission into evidence? 2. Did the trial court abuse its discretion in allowing appellees’ counsel to argue in rebuttal that Six Flags made surveillance footage disappear? For the following reasons, we hold the trial court’s admittance of the response to the request for admission was harmless error, but the trial court abused its discretion in allowing appellees’ rebuttal arguments regarding the disappearance of surveillance footage.

  • 2009 FALL Newsletter
The Southern Scream Volume XII, Issue 2, Fall 2009 For ACE members in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, & the Florida panhandle Getting Intimidated at Carowinds in 2010 by Max Cannon Intimidator, a B&M hyper coaster, will premiere at the park for the 2010 season. A hyper coaster for Carowinds has been the subject of much speculation over the years (and no, it won’t go under the bridge.) When the park opened this year, the log flume attraction was boarded up. The attraction itself disappeared and the whole area was being cleaned up. Something big was coming. Now, we know how big. Intimidator, named after the popular NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt, is being billed as the largest single investment in the park’s 37 year history. This investment will stand at 232 ft tall, the tallest B&M coaster in North America and the 8th tallest overall in the US. It will have seven drops, one each for Earnhardt’s seven championships, that will range from 211 ft to 48ft. In addition to the first 211 foot drop, the second (178-feet) and third (151-feet) hills are also taller than any roller coaster at Carowinds. This behemoth was change the face of the park in a major way. The coaster will reach up to 80mph along the 5300 plus feet of red track and grey supports, which will parallel the main guest parking lot and the turnaround will shadow over the South Gate entrance. Other features of the coaster will include: an “S” curve, a Carrick bend (AKA a panoramic u-turn), and an initial 211 ft drop at a 74 degree angle.
