Thank you to all that assisted in putting on this first golf outing. A special thanks to Steve Schilling, Mike Lecuyer, Erv Gully and Corky for their efforts. This idea came about during Cursillo weekend #111 while hav- ing coffee in the kitchen. Steve and I dis- cussed in great lengths about raising some money this year for the movement. We dreamed big, quickly discussed about the idea of putting on a golf outing and raising $10,000 bucks. With-in 3 weeks of the weekend we were having our first real meeting about the potential of this outing and had already had a discussion with a few golf courses. I met with the Secretariat and got the go ahead to plan the outing I remember saying, “what if im half wrong and we still raise $5000.00?” Several of my influential friends stepped up and supported this outing thru sponsorship. We had 29 players show up for the fun filled day of fellow-ship and golf. The morning of the outing it was rainy and gloomy. While leaving Fishers I looked to the right and saw a 4 rainbow setting. I knew immediately the outing would be a success and the rain would go away. We had several people arriving and look- ing at me like I was crazy when I said, “The rain will stop”. We were due to tee of at 10am and as the rain diminished by 10 we teed off to partly sunny skies. It was a wonderful day of golf and finished up with prizes and raffles. Erv Gully was the big winner in raffles and Ryan from Cintas Corp and his team took first place with a score of 56. This event was a huge success for the movement and should help off-set some expense as we netted $6200.00. I plan on this event growing even larger next year and will still focus on raising $10,000 or more. I was honored to chair the event this year and look for- ward to others assisting us in the future. by Bill Demaree

The theme for Cursillo Women #101 was "YOU ARE MINE". 'Will You Love Jesus More?' That was the team's question in the final song to our candidates. This team #101 bonded early in team meetings as we weekly celebrated Eucharist & opportunity for reconciliation with Fr. Paul Landwerlen as our Spiritual Director. Fr. is a wonderful combination of spiritual &sense of humor. We were grounded in prayer before and during the weekend. Our candidates were very ready to experience an Encounter with Christ on Thursday as they arrived. As the weekend unfolded, it was very obvious that the Holy Spirit was in complete control. The talks went very well and our 5 dedicated Cursillo priests gave exceptional talks that all benefited from in our walk to live a life of grace. We experienced two first time prayer events outside on a beautiful fall day. The sorrowful mystery of rosary was prayed Friday afternoon and Friday evening with the fire pit lit outside ,we chanted the Chaplet of Mercy. The Image of Jesus of Mercy was illuminated by spotlight and candles. It was a very special prayer time for all. As we all seek to love JESUS more, we pray that all new cursillistas will make new friends be friends and go forth in His love to serve and bring others to Christ in their 4th day. As our theme suggests "You Are Mine”, we pray that Jesus will possess our hearts'

Paula Stahl

The outside fire pit area was used for evening prayer. The cha's hung the Divine Mercy picture from the outdoor cross, added candles, and lit the fire pit. Team and candidates then sang the Divine Mercy Chaplet from the seating area. It was a beautiful evening, very peaceful, and very moving.

For me the weekend was about letting go and letting God. When I said yes to be the Rector, I was driving home from work and said to myself (half jokingly), ”God, if you really want me to do this, then help me pick out a song”. I turned on the radio and Help Me Find It by Sidewalk Prophets was the song coming on the radio. It was at that moment I knew that the Holy Spirit had a plan and was in control. The words “I will trust in you, you’ve never failed before,” and “Whatever Your will, can you help me find it” were all I needed to hear. I knew that what I needed to do was start praying and open my heart to hear what God wanted Cursillo #112 to be. Jesus, I Trust in You seemed to be the natural choice for the name of the weekend. To make sure I was getting the message, the Lord sent me another sign. I set a meeting with Cursillo #112’s Spiritual Director, Father Todd Riebe, the pastor of St. Marks. The first thing I saw when I went to St. Mark’s to meet Father was a display for The Divine Mercy. All I could say was “Okay, God, You are the potter and I am your clay, let’s get to work”. And with the Holy Spirit leading the way, the team for Cursillo #112 came together. I spent many Saturdays in adoration praying about every aspect of the weekend. The power of prayer was really speaking to me. The weekend itself was, in the words of Father Todd Riebe, “a weekend of abundance”. We had an abundance of Prayer, laughter, tears, The Holy Spirit and tomatoes. It was also a weekend of Friendship. And even though we had only 14 candidates on the weekend, each of those candidates were exactly who was supposed to be on the weekend. I will tell you that the Holy Spirit was truly at work in these men. Our Cursillo Family is now 14 Cursillistas stronger. How encouraging it is to know that Jesus is a part of these friendships. “Faithful friends are a sturdy shelter; whoever finds one finds a Treasure. Faithful friends are beyond price, no amount can balance their worth.” (Sirach 6:14 & 15) The weekend for me was without a doubt the most humbling and powerful experience of all the Cursillos that I have participated in. I was able to truly listen for the first time and hear everything that was going on. If the Holy Spirit calls you to be the Rector/a for a weekend, I would highly recommend it. It was truly a blessing from the Holy Spirit to send me an awesome Spiritual Director in Father Todd and a wonderful assistant in Mike Nulph. I will leave you with some words from Pope Francis first encyclical, Lumen Fidei, he states, “Faith becomes operative in the Christian on the basis of the gift received, the love which attracts our hearts to Christ (Gal 5:6), and enables us to become part of the Church’s great pilgrimage through history until the end of the world. For those who have been transformed in this way, a new way of seeing opens up, Faith becomes light in their eyes.” May you all have great wisdom, strength and light, as well as, many friends to help you on your Fourth Day. God Bless and DeColores.

Christ Is Counting On You!

Imagine a darkened auditorium, the stage is set for Holy Hour. Christ is there before you. Breathtaking! Awe-inspiring! The meditation for the Holy Hour was: "Father, what is your will for us?" Thank you, God, we are transformed by your Mercy & Grace. Look in Jesus' eyes of love. See: tenderness mercy compassion Grace beyond ALL knowing. In scripture, Jesus says, "You have not chosen me, It is I who have chosen you." Christ chose us to go forth & bear fruit Christ will be with us to the end of the world.

Central Indiana Cursillo Community Fall 2014

Ultreya By Tim Hays Brothers and sisters in Christ, we have just completed two successful weekends. I am sure that our new facility, Sonrise, did not feel like home yet; however it was apparent after attending the closings for both the men and women’s weekends that this new place is a real blessing to our movement. Some adjustments have been made and more will be made, as needed, to accommodate our new location. Sonrise allows us to provide the Cursillo experience to more people than ever. We will get the changes worked out and feel quite at home in a short time. We also completed the Fall Reunion Ultreya at St. Joseph’s Parish, in Indianapolis and it was great to see both the men’s and women’s teams and candidates coming together to share their friendship with a desire to continue that ongoing conversion process offered to all during the three day encounter with Christ and so many new friends. It is important to not only live as Christians but to share what we live in order for us to live what we share. Therefore it is important that sponsors keep in constant contact with our candidates to make sure that they find a group for sharing their piety, study, and action. The ULTREYA (meaning “onward”) is a very important tool to help with that continuing conversion process. This is the event where all smaller friendship groups come together to share and give their wit- ness to their fourth day. Attending Ultreyas is one way to meet active Cusillistas who might help those who are searching to find a group. Parish coordinators, please be sure and submit Ultreya dates to the webmaster, so that the information is readily available to all. Our new website is also a fantastic tool to allow those in need to seek a parish coordinator or a group within their area. You can use the link: www.cursillo-cicc.org and click on the Connect tab to select the tab, “Find a Group”, which will help you with finding your parish coordinator and hopefully a friendship group.
