Overview This circular updates the information and guidance to be used by Local authorities, the Welsh Ministers and other acquiring authorities when making compulsory purchase orders to which the Acquisition of Land Act 1981 applies. Action required For local authorities and other acquiring authorities to be aware, from 13 October 2020: Welsh Government Circular 003/2019: Compulsory Purchase in Wales and ‘The Crichel Down Rules (Wales Version 2020)’ provides information and guidance on the use of compulsory purchase powers and the disposal of surplus government land in Wales.
