B. Inform the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce of the Council's action on this matter.

C. That this report be adopted prior to the date of the ceremony on March 7, 2012.

DISCUSSION:

Plan D-30385 details the extension ofthe Hollywood Walk of Fame along Hollywood Boulevard from Sycamore A venue to La Brea A venue. A print of Sheet 19 of said Plan, filed in the office of the City Engineer, identifies locations of Walk of Fame Stars numbered 1 to 148, inclusive.

The Walk of Fame Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has submitted a request for insertion into the Hollywood Walk of Fame the name of William H. Macy. The ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 11:30 a.m.

The communicant's request is in accordance with City Council action of October 18, 1978, under Council File No. 78-3949. Following the Council's action of approval, and upon proper application and payment of the required fee, an installation permit can be secured at 201 N. Figueroa Street, 3rd Floor, Counter 23.

The star for WILLIAM H.MACY will be placed in the newer extension of the Walk of Fame. William H. Macy, an Oscar and Golden Globe nominee and Emrny and SAG Award winner, is one of the most distinguished talents of his generation. Macy currently stars in the Showtime series "Shameless," which premiered on January 9, 2011. He is currently in producti6n on the second season of the series, which will return in January 2012. Macy can currently be seen in 's "Dirty Girl," which was released on October 7, 2011. The cast includes Juno Temple, and . He was also seen earlier this year in the Lions gate "Lincoln Lawyer" based on the novel by Michael Cotmelly and starring Matthew McConaughey and Marisa Tomei He recently completed production on independent film "The Surrogate," the story of a 36-year-old man (played by John Hawkes) with an iron lung who decides he no longer wishes to be a virgin. With the help of his priest (Macy), he contacts a professional sex surrogate () to help him. In 2008, he was seen in "The Deal," a film he not only starred in and produced, but also adapted from the novel by Peter Lefcourt with long time writing partner Steven Schachter.
