Chapter 6 spoilers ahead! Stop reading now if you haven't done this part of the story!

Is that...what I think it is? I had almost determined these would be just a simple reference to the first game (knowing they exist because of materials seen in the armor-crafting menu), but here's one taking center stage in a story chapter. And boy, does it look great in this game!

Oh, yes, it's a Dinobeast alright! And since it decided to appear in a story chapter and offer some intrigue, that makes it more than just a simple enemy reference. Which makes me wonder; what on Mira are the protectors of the Bionis doing here? And the Nopon for that matter?

Nintendoer 12/15/2015 12:27 AM ·Spoilers Before, I was willing to write the Nopon off as just a series staple, similar to how Moogles and Chocobos are in the Final Fantasy series. But with the introduction of Telethia? I know it was said this game has no tie to the first one, but I'm starting to wonder now...

I haven't finished the first game yet, but I'm not too worried about accidental spoilers.

Riyago 12/15/2015 4:35 PM ·Spoilers I was surprised to see a Telethia here too. And like you said, I wrote off the Nopon as the franchise mascot. If the Telethia was merely a Global Nemesis, I'd write it as a cameo boss, but it is clearly part of the story. I haven't started Chapter 7 yet, but I have a feeling the game's going to open up in a big way.

More evidence! Stagger pointed this out to me, and it's a really cool Easter Egg. Or at least, so I thought. But it may be another link between Mira and the world of Xenoblade Chronicles.

Riyago 12/22/2015 12:16 AM A friend of mine found an Easter egg in a Chapter 8 cutscene. If you choose to disagree on the topic of titles, Elma will bring up "Square-tache". We almost literally "rofl'd" from that.
