HMS School Scoop Maya A Review On: Get Out

The movie “Get Out” has positive and negative parts to the movie as of any other. It has proven to impact connections, arguments, agreements and disagreements.

I saw this the first day it came out, on February 24, 2017. The trailers on this film looked very interesting and brought excitement to my family for the release date. The movie was about how main character, Chris Washington, commits to visiting his girlfriend’s side of the family and staying at their home for a short period of time. He worries about his race and how it will affect connections between the family. With Chris being African American and his girlfriend Rose Armitage being Caucasian, Chris doesn’t know what to expect or what will go down at the Armitage home.

This movie has many achievements such as an Empire Award for best horror film, an Academy Award for best original screenplay, awards for the director of the film and awards for the main character . This movie was incredible to watch considering the actors that made the movie possible. The actors showed true emotion and made the movie seem as real as it could possibly be. For a horror film, this movie is said to bring many thoughts and emotions to the audience. In addition, I feel as if the movie brought somewhat of a connection towards different nationalities. It also shows how you need to be aware and careful around people you don’t trust or know that well. Lastly, I believe this movie provides many life lessons and things we need to keep in mind in these situations.

Every movie definitely has cons or something that negatively sticks out. For this cinematic production, many people see the thriller as discrimination of . Over 75% of black citizens in the US argue that this motion picture in particular has to be one of the most racist films ever directed and put out for the world to see. During the movie I realized why people would say these things. In fact, when my family saw the movie, we all agreed to not liking the main point that was meant to come across viewers. I believe the storyline could have been better than making a conflict between black and white families. Lastly, even though this movie is a so called “liberal racism horror film”, I still see it as a racist concept that Caucasians have power over the main African American character throughout the whole movie.

My overall rating for this movie is probably a 7/10. I feel as if the film provides many life lessons and teachings but also brings confusion in some scenes. Even though many people don’t seem to understand how the movie has a good side, I believe for the most part, the film is amazing and remarkable. More importantly, I love how Get Out is a horror film but is an example of what could actually happen and what maybe has happened before. Lastly, The cons of the movie are also important to keep in mind and i can definitely see a room for improvement if considers making a second movie.
