Opening tip is set for 7:00 pm at Freedom Hall and will stream live on ESPN+. GARDNER-WEBB QUICK LOOK u Gardner-Webb played 10 men in last Thursday's opener, with six of those seeing their first action as a Runnin' Bulldog. GWU played 11 men in Saturday's loss at Pittsburgh. u Gardner-Webb's 0-of-19 shooting start at Pittsburgh on Saturday afternoon was the slowest start of the Division I era for the Runnin' Bulldogs. The team's defensive effort remained strong, preventing Pittsburgh from pulling too far away. u Tim Craft is the third coach in Gardner-Webb history to reach 100 career wins in six seasons. The Tallahassee, Fla., native joined Hall of Famers Eddie Holbrook (141) and Jim Wiles (103) on that list when GWU rallied for an 87-74 overtime win against Hampton on January 19, 2019 in Paul Porter Arena. u Named head coach on July 22, 2013. u Under Craft, the Runnin’ Bulldogs have not endured a losing season in Big South Conference play in his seven seasons. The Newnan, Ga., native played in 15 games last season as a freshman before missing the remainder of the season with an injury. Terry was an AAU teammate of NBA top pick Anthony Edwards with the Atlanta Express on the Under 2013-2014 18-15 10-6 Armour circuit before signing with the Runnin' Bulldogs. 2014-2015 20-15 10-8 u Standout sophomore Kareem Reid was tabbed as a preseason All-Big South choice in October. He is the highest-rated 2015-2016 17-16 10-8 recruit to sign with Gardner-Webb during the recruiting service era (since 2000), ranking as a top-75 national prospect as a 2016-2017 19-14 11-7 junior at Putnam Science (Conn.) Academy. Reid averaged 6.1 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots per game in just 15.7 minutes per game last season. He nearly pulled off a triple-double vs. Hampton, scoring 10 points to go with eight 2017-2018 14-18 9-9 rebounds and a career-high eight blocked shots. Blessed with a 7-foot-6 wingspan, Reid was solid in his season debut at Western Kentucky, going for 11 points, six rebounds and four blocks in a career-best 28 minutes played. 2018-2019 23-12 10-6 2019-2020 16-16 11-7 u Gardner-Webb blocked 10 shots as a team in its season opener, getting four each from Ludovic Dufeal and Kareem Reid. Anthony Selden added two blocks in his debut. Dufeal (71 blocks) and Reid (47 blocks) finished first and second in the 2020-2021 0-2 0-0 Big South last season in blocked shots.
