The bids shall be opened online on the date and time as mentioned above at the office of KITCO Ltd in the presence of the Bidders / their authorized representatives who wish to attend at the above address. If the tender opening date happens to be on a holiday or non- working day due to any other valid reason, the tender opening process will be done on the next working day at same time and place. Website: www.neptjournal.com A study was conducted to find out the distribution of heavy metals and the pollution status of a major dumping site in Laloor, Thrissur, Kerala and also the effectiveness of vetiver in phytoremediation of Received: 22-03-2016 contaminated soils. The total heavy metal content of the dumping sites was higher than the non Accepted: 17-04-2016 dumping sites. The average content of total Pb was recorded as 82.84 mg kg-1 in the soils of Laloor. Key Words: Monitoring the Co content of the soil, irrespective of different intervals and the sites of study, it was Heavy metal pollution, found that the average content was 7.79 mg kg-1 at Laloor. The average total Ni content registered at Dumpyard soil, Laloor was 35.54 mg kg-1. The Hg content of the soil was 0.42 mg kg-1 at Laloor. The average content Phytoremediation, of Cr was found to be 115.67 mg kg-1 in Laloor soil.

Since the word pooram literally means a group or a meeting, it was believed that every year the dynastic gods and goddesses of neighbouring province met together for a day of celebration. This usually happened on the pooram asterism of one of the spring months. The gods and their entourage arrived for the meeting on colourfully decorated tuskers. System followed is Padahadhy style. The next day o f Kodiyettam Bhagavati’s Laloor Bhagavathy, after daily rituals travels to Ezhunnallippu Pookkattikkara - Karamukku temple. After the poojas there, Devi travels back to Laloor along with Karamukku Pandymelam Bhagavathy. It is believed that this courtesy call to fellow pooram participant was another extinct rituals where all ten Kodikkal Pooram participants followed once.
