20160412 LM APQEII Form G Welcome to the 2016 Audemars Piguet QEII Cup to be held on Sunday 24th April. A world class line-up of 13 select runners will be featured in the first of Hong Kong’s four international G1 highlights this spring. An exciting trio from Japan, featuring dual G1 hero Lovely Day, will join Ireland’s Hong Kong Vase hero Highland Reel, the UAE’s Ertijaal, and Australia’s Rising Romance in challenging Hong Kong’s finest 2000-metre stars, led by Designs On Rome, in the Sha Tin showpiece which is the world’s ninth-highest rated race. In the FORM GUIDE, the PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS table provides you with a bird-eye's view of the race. This at-a-glance guide gives you a full form summary of the horses in a simple and concise table. Another handy tool is the INTERNATIONAL RATINGS CHART. In weight-for-age races like the Audemars Piguet QEII Cup, generally speaking, the higher a horse's rating, which is based on racing performance, the better its chance to win. A preliminary SPEED CHART has been included to assist in identifying likely positions in running. Please note that this is preliminary only and the full Speed Map will be available after barrier draw in the SpeedPOWER Form Guide on www.hkjc.com/english/formguide/formguide.asp. If you need further information and analysis, just flip over to the next section where you will find the COMPREHENSIVE PAST PERFORMANCE of the horses. Also included is the FORM ANALYSIS, which highlights the notable achievements and racing characteristics of each horse. Another feature is the RATINGS HISTORY CHART. This chart indicates the quality and consistency of a horse's previous 10 starts through a graphical illustration of the ratings achieved in these races. This information is correct as of 11th April 2016. There is only a short run to the first turn and then they’re on that turn until the 1400m. There is an unusually large number Werther 113 of horses that normally race “fairly handy” to the lead, yet there are none Horse Of Fortune 111 which normally lead. So the barrier draw will be critical to the finalization Nuovo Record 115+4 of this speed map. The more certain element of the map is that the illustrated backmakers Average performance rating of 5 most recent winners = 118. * 4 lb. weight allowance added to rating for fillies and mares. have no real versatility, and they’ll definitely be rearward. • Results of the 15Th Victoria Mile (G1)
FROM: Junichi Takada General Manager, Media & Publicity Department, THE JAPAN RACING ASSOCIATION (JRA) DATE: May 17, 2020 SUBJECT: RESULTS OF THE 15TH VICTORIA MILE (G1) In accordance with the restructuring of JRA racing program for fillies/mares executed in the 2006 season, the Victoria Mile was established to give the older fillies/mares a stage to prove their ability among their own sex, in addition to the Queen Elizabeth II Cup, which had been the only G1 reserved for older fillies/mares. While the Queen Elizabeth is run over 2,200 meters and held in mid-November, the Victoria Mile is held in spring and provides female milers a chance to claim a G1 title without having a tough competition in a mixed field. The race, however, attracts not only fillies/mares suited to the mile distance but also outstanding runners from the middle-long distance group. Past victors include two-time Horse of the Year winner Vodka (JPN, by Tanino Gimlet; ’09), 2010 Horse of the Year Buena Vista (JPN, by Special Week; ’10) and 2010 fillies’ Triple Crown winner Apapane (JPN, by King Kamehameha; ’11). Meanwhile, both Verxina (JPN, by Deep Impact) and Straight Girl (JPN, by Fuji Kiseki) claimed consecutive Victoria Mile titles in 2013-14 and 2015-16, respectively. The top three finishers will earn automatic starting positions in the French G1 Prix Jacques le Marois (1,600m) where not only will they be exempted from paying registration fee but will be given a total of €20,000 as a transportation subsidy. The race also joined the Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series this year, enabling its winner to earn automatic starting position in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1, 1,900m).

Welcome to the LONGINES Hong Kong International Races 2015 – The Turf World Championships on Sunday, 13 December. The HK$83 million LONGINES Hong Kong International Races at Sha Tin Racecourse on Sunday, 13 December have attracted a stellar line-up of Group 1 stars. A total of 31 international G1 winners are among the 55 entries selected for the world’s great end-of-year G1 extravaganza. The world-class contenders for the Turf World Championships feature returning LONGINES Hong Kong Vase champion Flintshire, Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint victor Mongolian Saturday from the U.S., Japan’s outstanding miler Maurice, the brilliant French mare Esoterique, Australia’s top-class galloper Criterion and Ireland’s crack middle-distance runner Free Eagle. In the FORM GUIDE of each race, the PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS table provides you with a bird-eye's view of the race. This at-a-glance guide gives you a full form summary of the horses in a simple and concise table. Another handy tool is the INTERNATIONAL RATINGS CHART. In weight-for-age races like the LONGINES HKIR, generally speaking, the higher a horse's rating, which is based on racing performance, the better its chance to win.

  • Subject: Result of the 49Th Sprinters Stakes (G1)
FROM: Haruyuki Miyoshi General Manager, Media & Publicity Department, THE JAPAN RACING ASSOCIATION (JRA) DATE: October 4, 2015 SUBJECT: RESULT OF THE 49TH SPRINTERS STAKES (G1) The Sprinters Stakes, initially established in 1967 as a major 1,200-meter sprint race for three-year-old and up, was designated as a spring G3 event in conjunction with the new grading system implemented in 1984. It was then upgraded to G2 in 1987 before becoming a G1 sprint race in 1990 with the date of fixture also shifted to the latter part of the season. The race now positions itself as the highest mark for sprinters together with the Takamatsunomiya Kinen (G1, 1,200m) held in spring. As one of the first few races to open its doors to foreign entries, the race became part of the Global Sprint Challenge (GSC), an international six-sprint series on turf jointly held in three countries; Australia, England and Japan, which later expanded into a ten-race series held in six countries with the addition of Hong Kong, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates. Silent Witness (AUS, by El Moxie) from Hong Kong played the starring role in its inaugural year in 2005 while Australia’s Takeover Target (AUS, by Celtic Swing) won the 2006 Sprinters Stakes, coming off a runner-up effort in the previous Centaur Stakes (G2, 1,200m), and ultimately earned the Global Sprint Challenge Champion title. Native Hong Kong trainer Poon Fai Yiu and jockey Hoi Wing Lai claimed the 2010 Sprinters Stakes title with Ultra Fantasy (AUS, by Encosta de Lago) who gave a tenacious performance to fend off some of the best G1 sprinters that were among the 16-horse field, and the race has continued to enjoy the company of some of the top sprinters from overseas in recent years.
