20151202 HKIR2015 FORMGUIDE E.Pdf Welcome to the LONGINES Hong Kong International Races 2015 – The Turf World Championships on Sunday, 13 December. The HK$83 million LONGINES Hong Kong International Races at Sha Tin Racecourse on Sunday, 13 December have attracted a stellar line-up of Group 1 stars. A total of 31 international G1 winners are among the 55 entries selected for the world’s great end-of-year G1 extravaganza. The world-class contenders for the Turf World Championships feature returning LONGINES Hong Kong Vase champion Flintshire, Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint victor Mongolian Saturday from the U.S., Japan’s outstanding miler Maurice, the brilliant French mare Esoterique, Australia’s top-class galloper Criterion and Ireland’s crack middle-distance runner Free Eagle. In the FORM GUIDE of each race, the PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS table provides you with a bird-eye's view of the race. This at-a-glance guide gives you a full form summary of the horses in a simple and concise table. Another handy tool is the INTERNATIONAL RATINGS CHART. In weight-for-age races like the LONGINES HKIR, generally speaking, the higher a horse's rating, which is based on racing performance, the better its chance to win. A preliminary SPEED CHART has been included to assist in identifying likely positions in running. Please note that this is preliminary only and the full Speed Map will be available after barrier draw in the SpeedPOWER Form Guide on www.hkjc.com/english/formguide/formguide.asp. If you need further information and analysis, just flip over to the next section where you will find the COMPREHENSIVE PAST PERFORMANCE of the horses. Also included is the FORM ANALYSIS, which highlights the notable achievements and racing characteristics of each horse. Another feature is the RATINGS HISTORY CHART. This chart indicates the quality and consistency of a horse's previous 10 starts through a graphical illustration of the ratings achieved in these races. This information is correct as of 1st December 2015. • Results of the 15Th Victoria Mile (G1)
FROM: Junichi Takada General Manager, Media & Publicity Department, THE JAPAN RACING ASSOCIATION (JRA) DATE: May 17, 2020 SUBJECT: RESULTS OF THE 15TH VICTORIA MILE (G1) In accordance with the restructuring of JRA racing program for fillies/mares executed in the 2006 season, the Victoria Mile was established to give the older fillies/mares a stage to prove their ability among their own sex, in addition to the Queen Elizabeth II Cup, which had been the only G1 reserved for older fillies/mares. While the Queen Elizabeth is run over 2,200 meters and held in mid-November, the Victoria Mile is held in spring and provides female milers a chance to claim a G1 title without having a tough competition in a mixed field. The race, however, attracts not only fillies/mares suited to the mile distance but also outstanding runners from the middle-long distance group. Past victors include two-time Horse of the Year winner Vodka (JPN, by Tanino Gimlet; ’09), 2010 Horse of the Year Buena Vista (JPN, by Special Week; ’10) and 2010 fillies’ Triple Crown winner Apapane (JPN, by King Kamehameha; ’11). Meanwhile, both Verxina (JPN, by Deep Impact) and Straight Girl (JPN, by Fuji Kiseki) claimed consecutive Victoria Mile titles in 2013-14 and 2015-16, respectively. The top three finishers will earn automatic starting positions in the French G1 Prix Jacques le Marois (1,600m) where not only will they be exempted from paying registration fee but will be given a total of €20,000 as a transportation subsidy. The race also joined the Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series this year, enabling its winner to earn automatic starting position in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1, 1,900m).

And some, imagining a muscular physique because he was said to be a dirt champion from America, voiced disappointment when at first sight, he appeared to be a fragile, gangly-legged horse. Fuji Kiseki, debuted in summer 1994 as one of the first year’s crop, utterly dispelled such talk and offered our first inkling that Sunday Silence Fuji Kiseki (by Sunday Silence) was not just any horse and may well be a super sire. Fuji Kiseki reigned Kiseki became the 15th ranked stallion winner and milers like Koiuta, who as champion two-year-old with three for two-year-olds and was ranked won the Victoria Mile (JRA’s top- flawless, consecutive victories in a fourth among new sires. Although he ranked race for mares only), there griffin race in Niigata, the Momiji produced Tosho Andre, who won the have also been horses that boasted Stakes, which he captured in a record Chunichi Shimbun Hai (GIII, as of stamina like Niigata Jump Stakes (J • time, followed by the Asahi Hai (GI, 1998) at the end of his fourth year and GIII) winner Demolition Man.
