BOSTON PRBSERVATION ALLIANCE CAMPAIGNS TO SAVE FETWYAY PARK!

On Wednesday, September 17, the Boston Preservation Alliance will be distributing "SAVE FENWAY PARK!" bumper stickers outside the park after the Red Sox - Blue Jays game. Built in 1912, Fenway Park, is one of only three surviving ballparks from the early 20th century, the . Over 2 million Boston area residents and visitors flock to Fenway Park every year to watch the Red Sox and enjoy the ambiance of this historic park.

Current on-site redevelopment proposals meet the Red Sox's revenue goals while preserv- ing what people love about Fenway Park. Proposals include an increase in seating capaci- ty to 43,000, a total of 80 luxury boxes, a new stadium club and expanded back-of-the- house space. The resulting sightlines are as good or better than the existing park, Balti- more's Camden Yards or 's Jacobs Field.

The Boston Preservation Alliance, the city's non-profit preservation advocacy organiza- tion, understands the issues involved with the future of Fenway Park. "We expect that the Red Sox organization, the City of Boston, and the fans of Fenway Park will work together to bring Fenway Park into the 2lst century." said Susan Park, President of the Boston Preservation Alliance.
