Littelfuse Sponsors Weekend Race Promotion at Upcoming Indycar Events Littelfuse Sponsors Weekend Race Promotion at Upcoming IndyCar Events Participants able to spend weekend "up close and personal" on track with pit crew, race engineers CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Littelfuse, Inc. (NASDAQ/NGS:LFUS), the worldwide leader in circuit protection, has created a "behind-the-scenes" IndyCar weekend Race Experience for the engineering community. The "Speed2Design" promotion, connected to five upcoming races on the 2012 IZOD® IndyCar schedule, will bring participants behind the scenes for the weekend to spend time with the team engineers and pit crew behind the Littelfuse co-sponsored No. 11 MOUSER ELECTRONICS/GEICO/KV Racing Technology Chevrolet Dallara driven by IndyCar champion Tony Kanaan. "Speed2Design" participants will be chosen at random during the next few months and there's no cost to winners; a travel voucher, lodging and event expenses will be covered by Littelfuse. To enter and learn more, visit www.speed2design.com. "The innovative designs and high-efficiency performance found in IndyCar racing relate to the Littelfuse 85-year history of developing innovative and highly reliable products for our automotive and electronics customers. Engineers truly value and understand the technology challenges, demands and reliability required of the electronics system in a machine traveling 200 MPH," said Gordon Hunter, President and CEO of Littelfuse. "Speed2Design will provide an opportunity for engineers to explore that technology in a very personal, accessible setting. Just as with racing, we understand that the first one to cross the finish line wins, and we want to position our customers to leading when it comes to their designs." The "Speed2Design" events will take place during five races between May and September in the 2012 IZOD® IndyCar series: Indianapolis, IN, (May 27), Fort Worth, TX, (June 9), Qingdao, China (August 19), Sonoma, CA, (August 26) and Fontana, CA. (September 15). "Speed2Design" was created by Littelfuse to allow the design community an exclusive opportunity to meet and talk with race car engineers about some of the most demanding and advanced technology in use today. Littelfuse will randomly select five participants who enter the promotion to attend each "Speed2Design" event. The "Speed2Design" program is a series of weekend activities surrounding the race, creating a unique experience of hands-on activities, interactive presentations and entertainment. Each weekend will highlight a "TechTalk" presentation just for "Speed2Design" participants to talk face-to-face with the KV Racing team engineers responsible for building and maintaining racing's premier performance machines. "Speed2Design" will allow participants to become part of the race environment, with exclusive access to the No. 11 IndyCar. "Speed2Design" participants will visit the team engineering transport, the pit, garage and track areas during practice/qualifying runs along with spending time in the pit box area that controls sensor-related data acquisition control panels. A variety of race- related hospitality events are included and of course, reserved grandstand seating for that weekend's race. Listen to Hunter discuss Speed2Design at www.Speed2Design.com. • BIVAR Leds Help Indy 500 Winner Tony Kanaan and KV Racing Technology
US Headquarters 1000 N. Main Street, Mansfield, TX 76063, USA (817) 804-3800 Main www.mouser.com For Immediate Release BIVAR LEDs Help Indy 500 Winner Tony Kanaan and KV Racing Technology June 18, 2013 – BIVAR and Mouser Electronics have teamed up to support leading IZOD IndyCar® Series driver Tony Kanaan and his 2013 KV Racing Technology team. The partnership is helping supply the racing team with a competitive edge in the pit and on the track. KV Racing Technology Technical Director Eric Cowdin, the head Race Engineer for Kanaan’s #11 IndyCar, and his engineers chose BIVAR LEDs to perform a critical role for the pit crew. According to data engineer Josh Fults and engineering assistant Matt Cummings, the BIVAR LEDs are key components in a re-fueling status system integrated into a crew member’s helmet. Re-fueling an Indycar with 18.5 gallons of ethanol in 7 to 8 seconds is not only critical to winning a race, it’s also a potentially dangerous activity that requires extreme focus. “We have a fuel status system. In our fueler’s helmet is a little circuit board with BIVAR LEDs on it, and then there’s a control box that runs those LEDs,” Fults explains. “We can use those LEDs to tell the fueler when to pull the fuel nozzle out of the car.” BIVAR LEDs also factor into the engineers’ proposed future designs. “We’re experimenting with some different steering wheel projects and we would utilize LEDS to alert the driver when caution lights are coming on,” Cummings says.

  • Anna Chatten 1979 – Present Nationality: American Involved in Racing Since 1998
Anna Chatten 1979 – Present Nationality: American Involved in racing since 1998 Origins: Anna Chatten was born in Peoria, Illinois in 1979. Growing up, she spent lots of her time around race tracks and developed an early interest in motorsports that simply continued to grow over the years. Chatten even competed in go-karts herself from ages eight through eighteen. After graduating from Metamora High School in 1998, she realized that rather than going to college, she wanted to become a mechanic and she set off for California eager to pursue her goals. Her dad, Bob, did not immediately fall in love with the idea, wishing that she would chose a different career path, but Chatten knew what she wanted and was determined to succeed. With the support of her mom, Phyllis, and later her dad as well, she advanced through the ranks, fulfilling her dreams and making it all the way to the Indianapolis 500. Early Influences: Chatten's involvement in motorsports began thanks to her father, Bob, who raced motorcycles throughout much of her early life. Anna would go watch him compete and quickly developed an interest in the sport. This interest grew after he bought a go-kart for himself when Anna was approximately eight years old and she realized she wanted to try racing one too. Bob eventually purchased one for her and it did not take long for Anna to become hooked. She raced throughout her childhood and continued after entering high school. The competitions deepened her love for the sport, but it was witnessing the Indy 500 that cemented this love.
