Eureka City would like to thank Teri Underwood for publishing the City’s monthly newsletter for the past six and a half years. She has kept our citizens informed of many events that have taken place in our local schools, city and county functions as well as from all the different organizations or businesses in town.; posting the local obituaries, historic photos, calendar of events, etc. Teri is currently pursuing her education and needs to focus her time more on her school work, so she is unable to continue with the newsletter. She has done a great job and we will miss her, but would like to congratulate her on furthering her education. THANK YOU TERI !!!

Eureka City has been receiving numerous calls on dogs running at large within the community, knocking over trash cans and making a mess, attacking other peoples , being left out in the cold, etc. We have also received some on the many that are running around town.

We would like to inform all citizens of Eureka that Eureka City does have an Animal Control Ordinance and it is up to each owner to be responsible for their own pets by becoming familiar with said ordinance and complying with all regulations.

Our current Ordinance requires all dogs to be licensed with Eureka City, license fees are $15.00 for females, $10.00 for males and $5.00 for spayed/neutered dogs. Before a dog can be licensed, it must have a current vaccination. ALL DOGS ARE REQUIRED TO BE LICENSED!! If a person has more than two dogs, they are required to apply for a Kennel License. All Dogs must be contained on the owner’s property or restrained on a leash or lead.

Every year, Eureka City and Nebo Animal Clinic sponsor a Rabies Clinic in May to accommodate the citizens so they can get their pets the required vaccinations and can then license their animals the same day. It is highly recommended that the citizens take advantage of this service. Eureka City now has a Code Enforcement Officer who has been instructed to start citing individuals for any animal control violations. The Animal Control Ordinance is available to be viewed by anyone interested at the City Office during normal business hours.

Hosted by: Jana Lee Workman 149 E Leadville Row, Eureka

March's book will be Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier

Cold Mountain is a novel about a soldier’s perilous journey back to his beloved near the Civil War's end. At once a love story & a harrowing account of one man’s long walk home, Cold Mountain in- troduces a new talent in American literature. Call Nina Higgs for a copy 435-433-2169.

April’s book will be Dewey the small-town Library who touched the World by Vicki Myron

How much of an impact can an animal have? How many lives can one cat touch? How is it possible for an abandoned to transform a small library, save a classic American town, and eventually become famous around the world? You can't even begin to answer those questions until you hear the charming story of Dewey Readmore Books, the beloved library cat of Spencer, Iowa. Call Jackie Jones for a copy 435-433-2217.

May’s Book Will Be Good Omens by Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman

According to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch (the world's only complete- ly accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655, before she exploded), the world will end on a Sat- urday. Next Saturday, in fact. Just before dinner.

So, the armies of Good and Evil are amassing, Atlantis is rising, frogs are falling, tempers are flar- ing. Everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon—both of whom have lived amongst Earth's mortals since The Beginning and have grown rather fond of the lifestyle—are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture.

And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist…

Call Elinda Nedreberg (801)660-8088 for a copy.
