Haven’t had a bad dish yet. This is a 5 Star steak house and one of the best in the US. A great place to celebrate or bring guests for a nice dinner. Recommend doing dinner, tour of the kitchen and then the desert room, but be prepared as there is not rush so plan for 4-5 hrs. You can also do just dinner or just dessert and the front bar is also great for drinks and appetizers. Dress code is enforced and reservations are recommended. Mad Dogs & Englishman: 4115 S MacDill Ave, Tampa, FL 33611 • British pub food including fish & chips and Bangers & Mash, but also has food with an Indian flair like many British Pubs. Great beer selection and a great local hangout. Enjoy some old movies playing on the wall while you wait. Recommend the Queens Eight platter if it is your first try to get a variety. Be prepared to eat with your hands. Tampa has sharks and rays at the Florida Aquarium and the more lovable manatees at the zoo. At Busch Gardens, you can ride across re-created African plains in a safari truck, stopping to hand-feed roaming giraffes. Or you can go to sea on a fishing charter and try to catch your own wildlife. In Ybor City, the historic Cuban neighborhood, you can amble down brick streets, following your nose to bakeries to buy fragrant loaves of Cuban bread or to shops where tabaqueros hand-roll fine cigars. Lively Spanish conversation might lead you to an old- fashioned domino parlor where grandfathers with gnarled hands gather to play in friendly neighborhood matches. Antiques shops, boutiques and art galleries beckon. After dark, the nightclubs throw open their doors, and Ybor City metamorphoses into a hip nightlife spot. St. Pete (the local name for St. Petersburg, Florida) is only a 30-minute drive away, and the gorgeous Gulf Coast beaches are about a 45-minute drive. The theme parks of Orlando, Florida, are about 90 minutes to the east.     Vanuit het vliegtuig lijkt Nederland op een abstract schilderij van Mondriaan. Strakke, met water getrokken, lijnen die het land verdelen in vlakken. Vliegend boven Florida trekt een soortgelijk landschap voorbij. Ditmaal geschilderd door Van Gogh, met dikke penseelstreken groen en woeste klodders water. Als de gezagvoerder de landing inzet, valt het doek en schittert een baai aan de horizon. Dan kussen de wielen de grond en opent Tampa haar armen voor weer een nieuwe vlucht. De groei van de jonge democratie dreef de oorspronkelijke bewoners van Amerika steeds verder zuidwaarts. Aan- gevuld met ontsnapte slaven van de plantages ontstond, onder andere rond Tampa Bay, een nieuwe cultuur: die van de Seminole. Wanneer Het Tampa Bay Hotel, ooit luxueuze pleisterplaats voor de rich & famous, nu het domein van studenten de VS in 1821 Florida van Spanje koopt, is het lot van de Seminole bezegeld.
