Map Data Sources: Protected Open Space data is created by the Housatonic Valley Association, with the generous support of Greenprint members, in an attempt to stay current with the ongoing conservation Contributing Conservation Organizations efforts in the Greenprint service area. Sue Grossman , Billings Trail, Shepaug Rail Trail, Proposed East- West Trail, Proposed Naugatuck River Greenway, Proposed HouBike Trail, and Proposed Housatonic River Greenway were digitized by the Housatonic Valley Association. Proposed Naugatuck Greenway Connector is from the City of Torrington. Appalachian Trail centerline and town boundary shapefiles were obtained from the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. The Proposed Mattatuck Connector and the CT Blue-Blazed Hiking Trails data were obtained from the Connecticut Forest & Park Association. All trail buffers are Regional Recreational Trail created by HVA and are 1.5 mile buffers from the trail Networks (Current & Proposed) centerline. Other Trails were compiled from GPS data, existing Map prepared by Ryan Williams maps and Aerial imagery (CT ECO 2016). All proposed trail and updated by Stacy Deming in June, 2017 using best available alignments are conceptual and are subject to change. This trail project was funded by The Conneticut Department of Tansporatation data. under contract with The Housatonic Valley Association.
