La rusa, plusmarquista mundial con 5,06 metros, retornará a las pistas en la reunión atlética Pole Vault Stars, promovida por su ídolo Sergey Bubka en la ciudad de Donetsk, Ucrania. Su regreso será casi un año después de apartarse del deporte por razones personales. «Es seguro que estaré en Donetsk. Después habrá un Campeonato de Europa en pista cubierta y luego decidiremos qué otras competencias vamos a tener», agregó una animada Isinbayeva, quien por estos días funge como «embajadora» en los Juegos Olímpicos de la Juventud que se están disputando en Singapur. «El objetivo más importante son los Juegos Olímpicos de Londres 2012, aunque antes tenemos el Mundial 2011, en Taegu. Mi último campeonato será en Moscú, en el año 2013», afirmó. Isinbayeva no compite desde abril, tras quedarse sin medallas en el Mundial de pista cubierta en Doha, Qatar, y en el Mundial al aire libre de Berlín 2009. Sin embargo, ya está dispuesta a regresar. «Cuando yo competía solía despertar cada mañana y sabía lo que iba a hacer en el día. Entrenar, descansar, comer», apuntó la atleta de 28 años. «Pero en estos tres meses, cuando tuve descanso, me despertaba y me preguntaba: ¿Qué voy a hacer hoy?. Es algo aburrido», confesó. «Pensé que me perdería la vida de una mujer normal, pero ahora reconozco que mi vida es mucho más interesante y colorida», destacó. Con mirada joven «Competir es especial y ahora comprendo qué significa ser la mejor del mundo. Realmente, estoy hambrienta por regresar a la competencia y esperando con interés la nueva temporada», explicó. El descanso temporal le ha permitido a la atleta rusa asumir el papel de embajadora en la versión inaugural de los Juegos Olímpicos de la Juventud, en Singapur. Ello le fue solicitado por el presidente el Comité Olímpico Internacional (COI), Jacques Rogge. «Tenemos un gran problema en el mundo con los niños, porque están engordando mucho. Ocurre en todas partes», sostuvo Isinbayeva. «Los jóvenes no están interesados en hacer deportes. Juegan solo con las computadoras y eso realmente es malo. Pienso que estos Juegos Olímpicos de la Juventud serán un impulso para ir a los estadios, a las piscinas, a un lugar solo para hacer algo», destacó. «Me gustaría devolverle cosas al deporte, todo lo que tengo ahora es precisamente por decidirme a practicarlo. Da stehen Neuwahlen auf der Tagesordnung. Es wäre schön, wenn sich der eine oder andere zur Mitarbeit entschließen könnte. Auch neue, junge Mitglieder täten gut. Mit 7 Euro Jahresbeitrag sind Sie dabei. Brauchen wir überhaupt einen Freundeskreis? Ich will die Frage so beantworten: Dank vieler Spenden, die wir erfreulicherweise jedes Jahr erhalten, können wir immer wieder Gutes für den ABC tun, Projekte unterstützen, Maßnahmen finanzieren, die nicht zum laufenden Geschäft des Vereins gehören und damit Entlastung für den Verein schaffen. So haben wir beispielweise im letzten Jahr ein Trainingslager finanziert, die gesamten Materialkosten für das in ehrenamtlicher Arbeit von Hans Kuhn und Manfred Schober fertig gestellte Dach des Clubhauses übernommen. Auch die Honorierung erfolgreicher Athletinnen und Athleten erfolgte weitgehend durch Mittel des Freundeskreises. Schließlich tragen wir inzwischen die Versandkosten für die ABC-NEWS und entlasten auch dadurch den ABC.
