Fr ancis S cott K e y Middle School’s Summer Reading Packet 2019-2020

Mr. Norman L. Coleman, Principal

Why do we have to do this? Summer reading is an expected practice throughout Montgomery County Public Schools, since the ability to read is crucial to success. Research shows that reading improves with practice and decreases if we do not practice. We expect all students to read during the summer because we are committed to the continued academic success of our students. While you may purchase books from any store or on-line source or, even borrow a book from a friend, students are NOT REQUIRED TO PURCHASE A BOOK TO READ. If you are having trouble getting a book, check the following website to see if your book is available at a Montgomery County Public Library. h ttp://montgomerycountymd.gov/Library/catalog/books.html
