LOS ALAMITOS — Thirteen divisional winners will be crowned champions this weekend in the 2013 CIF Southern Section-Ford Football Championships, presented by Farmers, scheduled for sites spanning from the desert to the sea. Championship football competition among CIF-SS member schools dates back to 1914. This year’s 100th edition features 13 schools that appeared in championship games last year. The 13 divisional finals are sponsored by The Ford Dealers Association; Farmers Insurance; Spaulding; Sports Authority; Fox Sports West and Prep Zone; Jack-in-the-Box; Flame Broiler; Del Taco, California Classified School Employees Association; Gatorade; Rawlings; Maxpreps.com; Southern California PGA; J&L Custom Jackets and Patches; KAP-7 Water Polo Balls; California Correctional Peace Officers Association; TLC Sportswear; The Tennis Association, , Woman’s Southern California Golf Association, Wilson Tennis, H&L Corporation, , and the LA84 Foundation.

CENTRAL DIVISION Heritage (12-1) at Rancho Verde (12-1), Saturday, December 7, 7:00 p.m. LIVE on Fox Sports Prep Zone The two top-seeded teams that seemed to be on a collision course all season will tangle in the Central Division Championship. No. 2 seeded Heritage, Champions of the Sunbelt League, has a balanced offense and defense as they have allowed an average of 17 points per game while running up an average of 40 points per game in the playoffs. The Patriots are looking for title number one in their second finals appearance - MORE- PR #15 - 11-MAN FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2-2-2 CENTRAL DIVISION (Cont.): in three years. The Patriots lost to Summit in the 2011 Eastern Division Final, 24-17 on their home turf. Heritage made their way through the playoffs by beating Arlington (21-7) in the first round and La Quinta of La Quinta (42-12) in the second, before dispatching Colony, 57-31 in the semi-finals. Kraig Broach’s squad is led by senior running back Limihai Hifo on offense and junior Christian Decker-Weible on defense. Top-seeded Rancho Verde, champions of the Inland Valley League, seeks the school’s second sectional title in their fifth finals appearance. Last season Rancho Verde dropped a 28-21 heartbreaker to Kaiser in the Central Division title game at home. The Mustangs won the Central Division title in 2011 with a 35-16 defeat of Palm Springs at Palm Springs High School, but lost their two other finals appearances in 1998 and three seasons ago. In 1998 they lost the Division V final to Norco, 42-21 and in 2010 suffered a 17-7 defeat to Colton in the Central Division final at home. Junior Sheriron Jones leads the offense. Coach Pete Duffy’s high-octane offense was also a force in their playoff wins over Colton (52-3), Elsinore (42-7) and Kaiser (35-3).

EASTERN DIVISION – Citrus Hill (12-1) at Norte Vista (5-8), Friday, December 6, 7:00 p.m. LIVE on Fox Sports Prep Zone The Eastern Division title game features a pair of outstanding programs in a battle of quality programs. Citrus Hill, champions of the Mountain Pass League, is the division’s third-seeded team. The Hawks, coached by Eric Zomalt, topped Ramona (61-7) in the first round; got past Apple Valley (24-20) in the second round; then took care of Moreno Valley in the semifinals (60-10). Citrus Hill is hoping to hang the school’s fourth CIF-SS Football Championship banner in their second-consecutive finals appearance. The Hawks defeated San Jacinto, 28-6 for the 2007 East Valley Division title at San Jacinto High School. They took a 31-27 victory in the Eastern title game over Barstow in 2008. Last year they defeated Serrano, 38-24 for the same title at home. Senior quarterback Brett Hollingsworth is the Hawks leader on offense, while senior linebacker Christopher Schumm leads the defense. Unseeded Norte Vista likes to win with offense as they have averaged nearly 40 points per game in the playoffs. The River Valley League Champion Braves are also looking for title number No.1 in their second finals appearance. They dropped the 1976 AA Division title, 34-6 to Antelope Valley. Norte Vista made their way through the playoffs by beating Silverado (31-10) in the first round and 4th seeded Oak Hills (47-38) in the second, before upsetting No. 1 seeded San Gorgonio, 38-37 in the semifinals. Head coach Ken Batdorf’s squad is led by senior quarterback Michael Hedlund when they have the ball and his twin brother senior linebacker Kevin Hedlund when they don’t.

EAST VALLEY DIVISION – St. Margaret’s (12-1) at Jurupa Hills (11-2), Decemebr 7, 7:00 p.m. LIVE on Fox Sports West Prep Zone The two top-seeds meet up in the East Valley Division championship tilt. High-powered St. Margaret’s, the No. 2 seed and Champions of the Academy League, is looking for its sixth CIF-SS championship in football and first in four years. It would be their fifth playing 11- Man football as the Tartans claimed an 8-Man title in 1989. In 2006 St. Margaret’s defeated Maranatha, 21-10 for their first 11-Man title. In 2007 the Tartans defeated Brentwood, 37-6 for their second- consecutive title. In 2008 St. Margaret’s defeated Twentynine Palms, 17-3 to make it three-in-a-row and to break the Orange County consecutive victories record at 42 (they won their first game of 2009 to stretch that mark to 43 games before losing in week 2). They went on to defeat Hamilton Union, 59- 7 for the 2008 CIF State Small Schools Bowl Championship. In 2009 the Tartans held on in the rain to defeat Ontario Christian, 12-6 at Ontario Christian High School to make it four-in-a-row. Head Coach - MORE- PR #15 - 11-MAN FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS 3-3-3 EAST VALLEY DIVISION (Cont.): Rod Baltau’s squad has defeated Twentynine Palms (49-6) and Rim of the World (27-26) before taking care of No. 3 seeded Big Bear in the semifinals (35-28). Senior quarterback Josh Davis leads the offense. Jurupa Hills is the Champion of the Mountain Valley League. The Spartans, coached by Edward McMillon, topped Arrowhead Christian (55-41) in the first round; took care of Shadow Hills (26-0) in the second round; then won a nail-bitter versus fourth-seeded and previously unbeaten Western Christian in the semifinals (40-39). The Spartans are hoping to hang the school’s first CIF-SS Football Championship banner in the school’s history. Junior quarterback Damion Wright leads the offense and senior linebacker Tyler Drake leads the defense.

INLAND DIVISION – Vista Murrieta (12-1) at Centennial/Corona (10-3), Friday, December 6, 8:00 p.m. LIVE on Fox Sports Primeticket The Inland Division final features another meeting of divisional top-seeds and a rematch for the fourth consecutive year of the previous season’s championships. Top-seeded Vista Murrieta was Champion of the Southwestern League. The high-powered Broncos, coached by Coley Candaele, look to claim their second section title in their fifth-consecutive title appearance. Candaele makes his seventh appearance in a finals game as a head coach. In 1998 he took his alma mater Carpinteria to the Division XI title game (they lost to St. Monica) and in 2002 Carpinteria claimed the Division XI title. The Broncos lost in two consecutive divisional finals games. In 2009 they suffered a 13-7 defeat to league rival Chaparral at Vista Murrieta. In 2010 Centennial made it two-in-a-row for the Broncos with a 45-21 set-back. In 2011 the Broncos broke through with a 35-28 title win over Centennial. Last year it was another disappointment at the hands of Huskies as Centennial claimed a 30-28 barnburner over the Broncos at Vista Murrieta. Vista Murrieta took playoff victories over Los Osos (57-14) in the first round; Charter Oak (52-7) in the second round; and Norco (56-19) in the semifinals. The Broncos high powered offense has outscored their opponents 165-40 in the playoffs. Vista Murrieta is led by senior quarterback Coltin Gearhart and senior defensive back Randy Beggs. Second-seeded Centennial was Champion of the Big VIII League. The extremely successful Huskies, coached by Matt Logan, look to claim their eighth section title in 13 years. The Huskies defeated Vista Murrieta last season, 30-28 to avenge their defeat at the hands of the Broncos the year before, 35-28. Centennial also defeated Vista Murrieta in 2010, 45-21. Centennial defeated Chaparral, 23-17 at Chaparral in the 2008 Inland title game. The Huskies defeated Santiago of Corona in the 2007 Inland Division Championship contest, 42-7 at the Home Depot . Prior to those victories, Centennial claimed titles in 2004 (Division V), 49-35 over Norco at Norte Vista High School; 2002 (Division V) against J.W. North, 57-55 at Norte Vista; and 2000 (Division V) versus Elsinore, 27-18 at Elsinore. In 1996 the Huskies lost to Alta Loma in the Division IV title game, 26-16 at the University of Redlands. Centennial took playoff victories over Etiwanda (56-23) in the first round; Chaparral (49- 14) in the second round; and beat No. 3 seeded Upland (86-56) in the semifinals. The Huskies high octane offense has outscored their opponents 191-93 in the playoffs. Centennial is led by senior quarterback Robert Webber and senior running back Tre Watson as well as senior linebacker Xavier Hughes.

MID-VALLEY DIVISION – Paraclete (9-4) at San Dimas (9-4), December 6, 7:00 p.m. LIVE on Fox Sports West Prep Zone The Mid-Valley Division highlights two high-powered football teams as both teams have bounced back from rough starts to advance to the title game. - MORE- PR #15 - 11-MAN FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS 4-4-4 MID-VALLEY DIVISION (Cont.): High-powered Paraclete, the No. 4 seed and Champion of the Alpha League, is looking for its ninth CIF-SS championship in football and eighth in the past 16 years. Last season Paraclete lost to Monrovia, 23-7 at Monrovia. In 2011 the Spirits lost to league rival Sierra Canyon, 47-14 at Antelope Valley College. Three seasons ago the Spirits defeated Sierra Canyon at Granada Hills High School, 14- 7. Prior to that the Spirits defeated Rosemead, 21-10 for the Mid-Valley title at Pete Knight High School. In 2001 they defeated Montclair Prep in the Division XII championship, 44-0 for the second- consecutive year on Montclair’s home turf after defeating them, 14-12 the year before at LA Valley College. Those were their fourth and fifth consecutive championships. In 1998 and 1999 Paraclete defeated Kilpatrick in back-to-back championships (25-14 and 43-6, respectively), both times at Antelope Valley College in Division XII title games. In 1997 they started the streak with an 8-6 victory over Banning in the Division XI championship game at Banning High School. Their first title came in the co- championship variety when they tied Calipatria, 7-7 in the Small Schools title game in 1967. Head coach Norm Dahlia’s Spirits defeated La Canada (54-3) and Pomona (46-23) before getting some revenge over top-seeded Monrovia in the semifinals (22-21). Sophomore running back Melquise Stovall leads the Spirits on offense. San Dimas is making its second finals appearance in the school’s 41 year history. In 2009 San Dimas claimed the Mid-Valley Division title in their one and only other finals appearance, 12-7 over Monrovia at Citrus College. The third-seeded Valle Vista League Champion Saints led by Coach Bill Zernickow took playoff victories over Gabrielino (48-6), San Marino (56-28) and second-seeded Arroyo (61-28). San Dimas is led by senior running back Joseph Mayorga and sophomore linebacker Josiah Erickson on defense.

NORTHEAST DIVISION – Mission College Prep (11-2) at Salesian (11-2), Saturday, December 7, 7:00 p.m. LIVE on Fox Sports West Prep Zone It will be a battle of top-seeds in the Northeast Division final as Mission College Prep and Rio Hondo Prep battle for bragging rights. Mission College Prep, top-seeded Freelance representatives, is looking for its first CIF-SS championship in football in their secon-consecutive finals appearance. Last season the Royals, coached by Chad Henry, lost to Rio Hondo Prep 28-21 at Rio Hondo Prep. Mission Prep defeated Santa Clarita Christian (49-12) and St. Genevieve (41-15) before taking care of fourth-seeded Desert (51-30) in the semifinals. Senior running back Patrick Laird leads the Royals offensively, while junior Carson Brown leads the defense. No. 3 seeded Salesian is in search of title number one as they advance to their first finals game in school history. The Mustangs defeated Chadwick (62-16) in the first round; Boron (43-0) in the second round; and No. 2 seeded and defending champion Rio Hondo Prep (35-20) in the semifinals. Salesian head coach Roddy Hiatt’s Mustangs are led by senior quarterback Blaise Booth and senior linebacker Jamadre Cobb.

NORTHERN DIVISION – Hart (11-2) at Valencia/Valencia (11-2), Friday, December 6, 7:00 p.m. LIVE on Fox Sports West Prep Zone In a battle of league rivals Hart and Valencia battle it out once again for the division title. Hart is seeking their ninth trophy in their 14th finals appearance. Hart claimed their first football title in 1983 when they won the Coastal Division title, 29-16 over North Torrance. In 1985 they dropped the same divisional final to Muir, 28-14. In 1986 a new division brought a better result with a 40-27 win over Temple City. In 1994 they dropped the Division II final to Antelope Valley, 36-15. Head Coach - MORE- PR #15 - 11-MAN FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS 5-5-5 NORTHERN DIVISION (Cont.): Mike Herrington’s first championship with the Indians came the following year, with a revenge win over Antelope Valley, 38-35. In 1998 they defeated St. Paul for the Division III trophy, 17-14. That began a streak of six consecutive finals and four-straight titles. Two of those titles came over their foe Friday as they defeated Valencia 34-6 in 1999 and 42-13 in 2001. They also claimed a title in 2000 (34-11 over Mira Costa) and dropped the 2002 Division II game to Mission Viejo, 10-6. The Indians revenged that loss the next year with a 25-7 win over the Diablos. Hart missed the title game in 2004 and dropped the 2005 final to Canyon of Canyon Country, 21-13. The Indian’s last championship appearance was in 2007, where they lost to St. Bonaventure, 42-28 in the Northern Division final. The Indians finished third in the Foothill League then went on to playoff triumphs over Paso Robles (56-35), No. 1 seeded Palos Verdes (33-12) before knocking off West Torrance, 42-7, in the semifinals. Hart is led by junior quarterback Brady White and senior linebacker Garrett Updegraft. Valencia, the Foothill League Champion and No. 2 seeded team in the bracket, takes their 11-2 record into the championship game with the hopes of taking home their first ever CIF-SS football crown in the school’s fourth try. The Vikings lost to league rival Hart in two of their other finals appearances in 1999 and 2001. The Vikings also dropped a 49-21 decision to Mission Viejo in the 2004 Division II final. Valencia, coached by Larry Muir, have advanced into the final with wins over Redondo Union (38-17), Arroyo Grande (28-23) and Saugus (45-8). Senior quarterback Jake Wallace leads the Vikings offense. Senior linebacker Justin Son is the defensive standout. Valencia defeated Hart earlier this year (November 1), 24-19 at The College of the Canyons.

NORTHWEST DIVISION – El Segundo (10-3) at Nordhoff (12-1); Saturday, December 7, 7:00 p.m. LIVE on Fox Sports West Prep Zone This division final features one school making a return trip to the Northwest Division title game and another making their first appearance in a football championship in their school’s history. El Segundo, Champions of the Pioneer League entered the bracket as the No. 4 seed. They will be making their first appearance in a CIF-SS football final since they opened their doors in 1929 (84 years). The Eagles, under the coaching of Steve Shevlin, beat Santa Paula (35-28), Carpinteria (45-31) and top-seeded Oak Park (59-40) to advance to the championship. El Segundo is led by junior quarterback Lars Nootbaar and junior linebacker Jackson Walz. Second-seeded Nordhoff has averaged 35 points per game in the playoffs. The Tri-Valley League runner-up is looking for their second-consecutive section title in football in their sixth finals appearance. The Rangers lost title games in 1994, 1996, 1999 and 2007. Last year they broke the drought with a 31- 14 victory over North Torrance at North Torrance High School. Nordhoff made their way through the playoffs by beating Verbum Dei (42-0) in the first round and Torrance (38-20) in the second, before taking care of Bishop Diego in the semifinals (24-21). Head coach Tony Henney’s team is led offensively by senior quarterback Tanner Workman and on defense by senior lineman Emmett Johnsen.

PAC-5 DIVISION – St. John Bosco (13-0) vs. Mater Dei (11-2) at Angel Stadium, Saturday, December 7, at 8:00 p.m. - Fox Sports Primeticket In a battle of league foes two juggernauts battle for the PAC-5 championship at The Big A. St. John Bosco, Trinity League Champion and the No. 1 seeded team in the division, looks to win its 19th ever CIF-SS Football crown in their fourth finals appearance. The Braves made their first title game appearance in 1971 where they dropped a 28-18 decision to Temple City at Mt. San Antonio College in the AA title contest. In 1974 the Braves lost to South Hills at The Coliseum, 20-12 in the 4-A Division Championship. St. John Bosco made their last finals appearance in 1986 where they ran into Crespi and their running back Russell White who scored four touchdowns and ran for 256 yards in a - MORE- PR #15 - 11-MAN FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS 6-6-6 PAC-5 DIVISION (Cont.): crushing 49-14 loss at Anaheim Stadium in the Big-Five title game. Coached by Jason Negro, St. John Bosco knocked off No. 4 seeded Alemany, 56-14 to reach the final. The Braves also defeated No. Agoura (69-25) and Tesoro (55-7) in this year’s playoff run. Junior quarterback leads the Braves offense, while senior linebacker Chandler Leniu is a force on defense. Mater Dei, runner-up in the Trinity League, is out to win its 11th crown overall and first since 1999. The Monarchs tied Long Beach Poly that year, 21-21 in that title game. Mater Dei last won an outright title in 1998 where, they defeated Long Beach Poly, 33-26. In 1996 the Monarchs were declared National Champions in several publications following a 17-10 win over Loyola at the Los Angeles Coliseum. Mater Dei has also claimed CIF-SS titles in 1956, 57, 60, 65, 91, and 94. Mater Dei makes it back-to-back finals for the first time since their three consecutive dances with Poly. Last year they were defeated by the Jackrabbits, 35-17 at Angel Stadium. Coached by Bruce Rollinson, Mater Dei features a strong running game and tough defense which led the Monarchs to a stunning 30-0 victory over No. 3 seeded Poly last Friday night at Veterans Stadium in Long Beach. The defense dominated so completely that Poly had negative yards offense in the first half. The Monarchs are led by senior all- purpose athlete Jonathan Lockett and senior defensive back Johnny Johnson. These two teams last met on November 1 at St. John Bosco, where the Braves dropped the Monarchs, 24-2.

SOUTHEAST DIVISION – Norwalk (13-0) vs. La Serna (11-2), at TBD, Saturday, December 7, 7:00 p.m. LIVE on Fox Sports West Prep Zone Two of the top-seeded teams in the division tangle for the Southeast Division crown. Norwalk makes its first trip to the title game since 1977. The Lancers won a championship that year with a 17-13 win over Neff at La Mirada High School. The top-seeded Lancers, coached by Jessie Ceniceros, were Champions of the Suburban League for the first time since 1990. They advanced to the title game with wins over West Covina (42-27), Dominguez (19-7) and Muir (35-28) in a semifinal contest. Senior running back Rashaad Penny leads the Lancers along with senior linebacker Jose Abrina. La Serna, the Del Rio League Champion, takes a run at their second title in their fourth try and third straight. Last season Downy defeated the Lancers, 33-25 at Cal State Fullerton. In 2011 La Serna suffered an 84-21 drubbing at the hands of West Covina in the Southeast Division final at California High School. The Lancers claimed their first and only title in 1967 when they defeated Temple City, 33- 7 for the AAA Division crown at Cerritos College. Coach Margarito Beltran’s Lancer team has playoff wins over Burroughs of Burbank (55-7), Diamond Bar (51-7) and Burbank (28-21) in the semi-finals. The Lancers are led by senior quarterback Frankie Palmer and sophomore linebacker Daniel Campos.

SOUTHERN DIVISION – Corona del Mar (13-0) at Garden Grove (13-0), Friday, December 6, at 7:00 p.m. LIVE at Fox Sports West Prep Zone The Southern Division title game features a showdown between two undefeated teams in the division and a re-match of last season’s final as top-seeded Corona del Mar takes on No. 2 seeded Garden Grove. Garden Grove claimed the Garden Grove League title and was rewarded with the No. 2 seed in the division before embarking on a path of three victories in the playoffs. The Argonauts, coached by Willie Puga, are in search of the schools second football title in their fifth finals appearance. Last year the Argonauts dropped at tough contest to the Sea Kings, 35-10 at Angel Stadium. Two years before, they claimed the Southern Division title with a 31-30 thriller over Beckman at Orange Coast College. Four years ago Garden Grove dropped a 49-27 decision to La Mirada at Orange Coast College. Before that season the last time Garden Grove advanced to a final was 1945 where they lost to Downey in - MORE- PR #15 - 11-MAN FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS 7-7-7 SOUTHERN DIVISION (Cont.): the Lower Division title game, 19-6. Garden Grove defeated Orange (42- 10) in the first round, Katella (49-0) in the second round and third-seeded Irvine (49-27) in the semifinals. The Argonauts are led by senior quarterback Angel Martinez and senior linebacker Bryan Quexel. Pacific Coast League first-place team, Corona del Mar makes its third-consecutive finals appearance. Last season the Sea Kings won a thrilling divisional title game over Garden Grove. Two years ago the Sea Kings held on for a 14-13 win over league rival Beckman at Orange Coast College. Corona del Mar also claimed titles in 1988 (Division VI– 17-7 win over Valencia/Placentia at OCC) and 1989 (Division VI at OCC, 21-10 over La Quinta of Westminster). Head coach Scott Meyer’s Sea Kings are led by senior quarterback Luke Napolitano and junior linebacker Hoyt Crance. Corona del Mar has playoff wins over Loara (44-3), Los Amigos (42-0) and fourth seeded-Westminster (37-14).

SOUTHWEST DIVISION – Newport Harbor (8-5) vs. Huntington Beach (8-5), at Angel Stadium, Saturday, December 7, 2:00 p.m. LIVE on Fox Sports West Prep Zone Two very similarly styled league foes collide in the Southwest Division title game as Newport Harbor takes on Huntington Beach. Newport Harbor, Sunset League Co-Runner-up, is in search of title number four in eight trips to a final game. Should they pull it off it would be their first title since 2005. Newport Harbor made their first trip to a final in 1942, but dropped a 39-6 decision to Glenn Davis led Bonita Bearcats. The Sailors didn’t reach another final again until 1992 and the results were the same as they dropped a 30-8 decision to Irvine in the Division IV final. They broke through in 1994 20-15 win over Servite at Orange Coast College for the Division V crown. However 1996 saw a 38-0 loss to Santa Margarita in the Division V final. 1999 they were back on top with a 19-18 nail bitter over Irvine. In 2000 Irvine got their revenge, 14-0 in the Division VI game. 2004 witnessed a tough 35-6 loss at Angel Stadium to Orange Lutheran, while their last finals appearance in 2005 ended with a 28-21 win over Valencia of Placentia for the Division VI title.The Sailors defeated Dana Hills (32-13) in the first round; shocked No. 1 seeded La Habra (49-48) in the second round; and Fullerton (28-17) in the semifinals. Newport Harbor, coached by Jeff Brinkley, is led by junior quarterback Cole Norris. Huntington Beach, At-Large entry from the Sunset League, knocked-off No. 2 seeded Yorba Linda (31-14) in their first-round contest and added a win over Sea View League Champion San Juan Hills (42-12) and put icing on the cake with a 28-21 win over defending champion, No. 3 seeded league and city rival Edison. Huntington Beach looks for title No. 2 in their third try and first in 20 years. Last time the Oilers found themselves in a championship game was 1993 when they were defeated Los Alamitos, 39-21 in the Divisional II final. Prior to that, in 1935 they claimed their only title with a 13-0 win in the “B” Division final. Head coach Eric Lo’s team is led by senior quarterback Kai Ross and junior linebacker Mathew Tavakoli. Huntington Beach defeated Newport Harbor earlier this year (November 8), 40-14 at Huntington Beach High School.

WESTERN DIVISION – Chaminade (12-1) at Serra (11-2), Friday, December 6, 7:00 p.m. LIVE on Fox Sports West Another re-match of a final from last year between league rivals pits the top-two seeds in the division. Chaminade, No .2 seeded runner-up in the Mission League, will be making their second- consecutive appearance in a CIF-SS football final and only their third in school history. The Eagles lost to Serra last year in the Western Division final in an epic contest, 30-28 at Serra. Previously, in 1987, Chaminade lost the Desert-Mountain Division title game, 13-10 to Woodbridge at Irvine High School. - MORE- PR #15 - 11-MAN FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS 8-8-8 WESTERN DIVISION (Cont.): Chaminade, under the coaching of Ed Croson, defeated Morningside (71- 0) in the first-round, Ventura (36-3) in the second round and third-seeded Lompoc (49-14) in their semifinal. In the process, the Eagles are averaging 52 points scoring on offense through their playoff run. Chaminade is led by senior quarterback Brad Kaaya and junior running back Donovan Lee. Serra, Champion of the Mission League and the division’s No. 1 seed will be making its eighth appearance in a CIF-SS football final while seeking their fifth ring and fourth in five years. The Cavaliers hoisted the trophy in 2012 with that win over the Eagles of Chaminade. In 2010 they held the trophy following a 35-10 win over Arroyo Grande for the Western Division title. Serra took home the Northwest Division title two seasons ago after a stellar championship game victory over Oaks Christian, 42-41 in overtime at Serra. Prior to that the Cavaliers last won a title in 1989 when they claimed the Division VII crown with a 34-31 victory over Lompoc at El Camino College. Serra also made finals appearances in 1980 and in 2002. The Cavaliers, under the coaching of Scott Altenberg, beat Pacifica/Oxnard (48- 16), Buena (40-6) and St. Francis (22-14) to advance to the championship. The Cavaliers are led by senior quarterback Jalen Greene and junior linebacker John Houston. In the first meeting of the year on October 18, Serra defeated Chaminade, 36-0 at Serra.

CIF SOUTHERN SECTION-FORD FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS AT ANGELS STADIUM Angel Stadium in Anaheim will host two CIF Southern Section-Ford High School Football Championships this Saturday, December 7. It starts with fans being able to watch the Southwest Division Final at 2:00 p.m. Following that game the stadium will be cleared for the next contest and a second ticket will be required. Game 2, at 8:00 p.m. is the PAC-5 Division Championship. Fox Sports Net West (PAC-5 Division Final) and Prep Zone(Southwest Division) will be providing all of the exciting game coverage live. Tickets to the Southwest Division as well as the PAC-5 Championships are $15.00 (Reserved Club Level), $12.00 (Field and Terrace Level General Admission) and $5.00 (General Admission Student Ticket w/I.D. and Children Ages 5-13). Advanced tickets are available through the participating schools and the Angel Stadium Box Office. Regular CIF-SS Season Media and Photo Credentials will NOT be accepted at Angel Stadium. Credential Holder agrees that the determination of whether a blog is posting a real-time description shall be in the CIF-SS’ sole discretion.
