GVK MIAL’s fourth Sustainability Report released Editor Speak

Dear Colleagues, We are happy to present yet another interesting issue of our GVK WORLD for your reading pleasure. Sustainability is the buzzword in all of GVK’s projects. This was emphasized all long in his speech by Dr. GVK Reddy, Executive Chairman, GVK MIAL, while releasing the fourth biennial MIAL Sustainability Report based on the theme ‘Coming together for a Sustainable Tomorrow’. It is indeed a proud achievement that GVK MIAL is the first and only airport operator in to release a Sustainability Report in the public domain and also the first in the entire Asian continent to publish a report that is based on a Global Reporting Initiatives (GRI) Standards database. In this issue, we are also showcasing GVK’s best practices of giving back to society. Our Founder Chairman, Dr GVK Reddy, inaugurated the residential apartments for the staff in GVK Chinmaya Vidyalaya premises with a formal and also announced scholarships for two meritorious students from intermediate classes for admission into the Chinmaya University. Our Vice Chairman, Mr. G V Sanjay Reddy, was invited as one of the distinguished panelists for a discussion on ‘How we grow: Upgrading infrastructure in a time-bound manner’ which was organized by the Government of Maharashtra in partnership with Project Mumbai in Mumbai. Saving lives is the main motto for GVK EMRI through its emergency services number 108 and this has helped save lives of over 1.5 million people across the country. The hotline number has been active for the past 12 years and serves the largest population in the world. This quarter was full of festivals and important days which were celebrated across GVK offices in the country whole heartedly. Navratri, and Christmas were celebrated all across, with contests like “Let’s make a ‘Noise’” and “Be a Santa this Christmas” for the employees respectively. We would also like to recognize and congratulate our colleagues from across GVK companies for their singular achievements which are highlighted in this issue. In conclusion, we wish to thank everyone for your invaluable contribution and expect that your enthusiastic responses will continue to keep pouring in during 2019.

The procurement department of GVK MIAL has bagged accolades at the 6th Procurement Excellence Awards, part of the 12th Express Logistics & Supply Chain Leadership Awards Conclave held at Taj Lands End, Mumbai on October 4, 2018. GVK MIAL bagged the award in the category - “Sectoral Procurement Excellence - Airport”. The nomination for this award was thoroughly scrutinized and evaluated by an advisory council of members. GVK MIAL Cargo Team has bagged the prestigious “Best Airport - eFreight Compliant and Service Quality” Award at the ‘India Cargo Awards’ also acknowledged as ‘Oscars of the Cargo Industry’ at a ceremony held in Clarks Shiraz, Agra. In its fourth year, the India Cargo Awards were instituted by the DDP Group to help recognise, facilitate and celebrate MICE industry professionals. GVK EMRI scientific paper adjudged the best

The scientific paper on ‘Telephone CPR in sudden cardiac arrest’ presented by the GVK EMRI team from Hyderabad won the best oral paper at EMCON 2018 held at Bengaluru from November 15-18, 2018. Ms J. Rani from Research Department presented the paper. The paper titled ‘Telephone CPR - An evidence based cost-effective solution for Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest (OHCA) in India - A successful pilot.’ It is for the first time in India that the Telephone CPR (T-CPR or Dispatcher CPR) was initiated at 108 GVK EMRI, Hyderabad. It is a unique and innovative pilot project conducted in Telangana state. In the paper, the T-CPR study objectives and methodologies were explained and results were based on the information and real time experiences on Telephone CPR. Barriers during the project were highlighted according to the Indian scenario.

GVK CSMIA bagged the runners-up award in the Favourite Airport Category at the 8th edition of Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Travel Awards. The winners were chosen through a readers’ voting process spanning two months sans any nominations and recognises the best in the travel industry across hotels, destinations, airlines, spas, websites, apps, cruise lines and more. The award ceremony, hosted by Bollywood diva Chitrangada Singh, was held at New Delhi on November 29, 2018. Ms. Vinney Pillai, Head Corporate Communications, MIAL received the award for GVK CSMIA. The accolade is an acknowledgement of GVK MIAL’s continuous efforts towards setting quality benchmarks and implementing best practices for the airport industry across the globe. This achievement demonstrates the airport’s constant endeavor to consistently offer a seamless experience to its stakeholders.

GVK Lounge is World’s Best Business Class Lounge

For the fourth time in a row, the GVK Lounge at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), operated by Travel Food Services (TFS), has been awarded the World’s Best Business Class Lounge at the World Travel Awards, 2018. The World Travel Awards are considered one of the most prestigious and comprehensive awards in the industry and are attended by the sector’s key decision- makers, figure heads and trade and consumer media. The award ceremony was held at the historic Pátio da Galé in Lisbon, Portugal on December 1, 2018 and witnessed some of the most renowned brands from the sector being recognised and awarded for exemplary service. Besides the Best Business Class Lounge, the GVK Lounge bagged awards in categories like Asia’s Leading Airport Lounge 2018 and Asia’s Leading Domestic Airport Lounge 2018.

GVK BIO gets CBIC recognition

GVK BIO, on December 13, 2018, was recognised by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) as an “Authorised Economic Operator” with a T1 Certification for a period of two years as ‘secure’ and ‘reliable’ trade partner. GVK BIO was appreciated and recognised for its commitment to secure the international supply chain and in compliance with World Customs Organizations (WCO) framework of Standards to Secure and Facilitate Global Trade (SAFE Framework).

GVK BIO bagged first place in Process Industry- Pharmaceutical category along with a ‘5 Star’ rating for excellence in EHS practices at CII-SR EHS Excellence Awards held on December 7, 2018. Constituted by the CII Southern Region in 2002, the aim behind the award is to recognize, motivate and facilitate corporates to adopt innovative practices in EHS. The endeavour is to enable corporates to follow “path-breaking” practices rather than mere “bench-marking”. The award has been instituted to acknowledge extraordinary contribution by the organizations towards conserving critical environmental resource, contribute to sustainable - green initiatives, handling occupational health and hygiene issues and excellent, innovative and efficient management practices.

GVK BIO is Telangana’s Best Employer Brand

GVK BIO was recognised as Telangana’s Best Employer Brand, 2018 for the second consecutive year by the Employer Branding Institute, India. The award was presented on November 16, 2018. The awards featured top organizations from the state that showcased exemplary work in the field of Human Resources (HR) and used the tool of marketing communication effectively for HR development. The key criteria taken into consideration for the awards were translating and combining vision, action and HR strategy, building line to engage HR strategy with business, and cultivating competencies for the future to enable organization to be future-ready.

The awards identify, reward and present the finest institutions that are dedicated towards spearheading biodiversity conservation and environmental stewardship.

Taj Krishna bags Greenotels award

Taj Krishna was awarded as the most environment-friendly and sustainable hotel at the Greenotel Awards organized by Greenotels. Taj Krishna bagged the award under the extra large category of hotels and managed to outshine the competition because of its environment-friendly and sustainable practices. The award, presented on December 1, 2018, was received by the Director of Engineering Mr. Sharique Khurshid. The engineering team is primarily responsible for all the green initiatives.

GVK ONE adjudged Best Premium Venue

GVK ONE Mall was adjudged the Best Premium Venue (Non-Metro) by The Activation Venues Forum (TAVF). The award was presented on November 21, 2018 and was received by the Assistant General Manager (Marketing), Mr. Gerald Mathew. TAVF is India’s first initiative to promulgate the potential of integrated marketing communication. The Forum recognizes and rewards the best of venues, brands and solution providers in distinct categories across all channels.

GVKPIL, TAJ GVK AGMs held at Hyderabad

The 24th AGM of GVK Power & Infrastructure Limited was held on November 14, 2018 at Hyderabad. In his speech, Dr GVK Reddy, Founder and Chairman, GVK, highlighted the economic scenario including the implementation of GST before dwelling on the company’s performance for the fiscal year 2017-18 and the progress made by each of the subsidiaries of the group. The shareholders appreciated the management for achievements made in the development of Mumbai Airport and the progress made in the implementation of the Navi Mumbai airport project. Around 162 shareholders attended the AGM and all the resolutions were passed with the requisite majority. Similarly, the 23rd AGM of TAJ GVK Hotels and Resorts Ltd, was held on August 3, 2018 at Sri Sai Nigamagamam, Hyderabad.

GVK CSMIA records 1,004 flights in a day

GVK CSMIA handled a record 1,004 aircraft movements in a day on December 8, 2018, bettering its earlier record of 1,003 flight movements in 24 hours on June 5, 2018. As many as 903 scheduled, 59 non-scheduled, eight charter, 31 freighter and three military flights were handled by the airport on the day. The June 5 record was also on account of a number of flight diversions to the Mumbai airport following the dust storm that hit New Delhi.

MIAL installs CUSS kiosks at 13 Hotels

GVK MIAL has installed ‘Common Use Self Service (CUSS)’ kiosks for passengers of T1 to remotely check-in without any human interaction at 13 hotels – three transit hotels within the airport and 10 outside. The facility has now been extended to Holiday Inn, The Leela Andheri, Niranta Day Hotel, Day 2 Hotel, Hotel Lalit, JW Marriot, Sahara Hotel, Aviserve Lounge, Hyatt Regency, Taj Santacruz, ITC Maratha and Hilton. Passengers can print their boarding passes and move directly to the security queue at T1 by accessing the electronic check- in facility before leaving the hotel. The passengers who have already checked in via the internet (web check-in) will be able to tag their baggage and drop it in the units before boarding the flight. Jaya He GVK New Museum hosted a group of 25 students and faculty from the Hautes études Commerciales (HEC) Business School’s campus in Montreal on December 7, 2018. They were given a presentation on the concept of T2 and were taken on a tour of the Jaya He GVK New museum. The group engaged in depth with all the new concepts explained to them. The future managers and business leaders left with hearts full of inspiration and a new respect for Indian art and culture.

Jaya He GVK New Museum collaborated with The Hindu and Camlin to invite 60 children from 10 municipal schools in Navi Mumbai on a visit to T2 on December 12, 2018. The children saw an airport for the first time in their life. The event was themed, “Discover the Superhero in ou.”Y The children’s fascination knew no bounds when they saw the terminal building and were made familiar with how an airport works. This was followed by a specially scripted museum tour. The children literally travelled around the country as they looked at the exhibits and were introduced to the expanse of Indian heritage. The museum team along with The Hindu and Camlin also arranged for a special activity where the kids made their own superhero masks. A Spiderman mascot accompanied the children to add fun and inspiration to this activity. The kids were also engaged with a beading activity where they created a lucky charm for themselves - to take home along with the goodies bags. To capture all this energy and a remarkable moment to remember, Jaya He invited a group of artists to create live acrylic paintings.

The Jaya He GVK New Museum team invited the Since Diwali was around the corner, the officers were CISF officers for a unique experience. AED & CPR training

The medical team of GVK MIAL conducted a session on AED and CPR training on October 23, 2018. In all 29 people from GVK MIAL, Etihad, Times OOH, CISF and Immigration participated in the training. The training is imparted to stakeholders so as to enable them to respond to the medical emergencies such as cardiac arrests. GVK MIAL has installed a number of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) within the precincts of airport and CSMIA is among very few airports in the world having such high number of life saving equipment across the Terminal.

NMIAL committed to employees’ safety

With many potential issues related to drilling, charging, blasting, haulage and the presence of other hazards like HVT lines, GVK NMIAL lays stress on the safety of workers at its project site. In this context, safety training is considered important for risk prevention and control strategy to guarantee that every employee is safe. Employee involvement is a vital factor in the safety training given by GVK NMIAL which prevents and reduces injuries and accidents. It also helps GVK NMIAL achieve its main objective of occupational safety.

Safety training at Goindwal Sahib TPP

Goindwal Sahib TPP conducted a safety training programme for agency employees on November 17, 2018, to create awareness on ‘Material Handling’ hazards and its prevention. In all 39 employees participated in the programme conducted by Mr. Puneet Dwivedi, Sr. Engineer, Safety. A first aid and fire fighting class along with demonstration was also conducted at Goindwal Sahib TPP on November 22, 2018 for the employees from M/s STAR O&M. The training and demo was conducted by Mr. Rajesh Singh & Paramjit Singh, Sr. SO (Fire & Sec). All workers were made aware about the fire extinguishing method and operation of different types of fire extinguishers as well as handling and operation of hydrant, hose and short branch.

The fire fighting crew from GoindwalFirst-aid Sahib TPP impartedand firea first-ai dfighting fire and fighting training class with live demonstration to the workers of M/S Simar Infrastructure Ltd on October 24, 2018. In all 26 workers attended the training where they were made aware about the emergency of fire, its classification, fire extinguishing method and operation of different types of fire extinguishers.

Safety MELA

The GVK Safety department conducted a Safety Mela in association with M/s. Globus Engineers at Goindwal Sahib TPP. The mela was attended by the employees of the agency. The people shared their experiences in AHP Hazard and its precaution. The speeches on safety were delivered by Mr. Vikash Chandra Shukla, Plant Head and Mr. Analjyoti Chakraborty, Head - C&I. The programme was conducted by Mr. Deepak Kumar, Safety Officer, M/s. Globus Engineering. The agency employees shared their experiences while working with respect to hazards of working in an unsafe area and how to improve safety awareness at work place.

Safety quiz competition

A safety quiz competition for agency personnel was conducted at Goindwal Sahib TPP on December 19, 2018 at the Project Site. The competition was conducted in five categories such as general safety, unsafe condition/practices, mandatory/cautionary signages etc. Six teams comprising of three personnel each participated in the competition.

Safety induction training at Shrinagar HEP

The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) department of Alaknanda Hydro Power Co. Ltd, Shrinagar HEP conducted a safety induction training. The programme was to ensure that the labourers, engineers and supervisors working on the HEP site remain safe and achieve the generation target without any casualties. Besides induction training, the HSE department also conducts safety toolbox training, safety motivational training and firefighting training to all workers, staff and security personnel.

In-house training

The HR department of AHPCL started conducting in-house training programme from December 1, 2018 for the employees. The employees are divided into three batches with around 20 employees in each batch. In all 14 faculties will impart training on different courses. The first batch completed training on December 29, 2018. Dussehra celebrations at GVK BIO

GVK BIO celebrated Dussehra with the employees playing ‘Bathukamma’, a floral festival celebrated predominantly by the Hindu women of Telangana and some parts of Andhra Pradesh, followed by Dandiya. The choreographers ensured that there is synchrony of steps as the employees swayed to Dandiya tunes. The dance and excitement was so enchanting that some of the clients who came to watch the event, also joined the celebrations. Around 400 employees gathered to witness the event.

Talent competition at GVK BIO

TALENZZ, a talent competition was organized at GVK BIO wherein 16 shortlisted contestants participated and showcased their talent to an audience of more than 500 employees. The CEO and the members of the executive committee also conveyed their Diwali wishes to all the employees. Ritu Biradar, Mrs Telangana 2017 and Mr. Parikshit Suri, Script Writer and Director were the judges for the competition.

Badminton tournament at MIAL

GVK MIAL’s Josh team organized a badminton tournament on October 26, 2018, at the Andheri Sports Complex. The tournament received an overwhelming response from the staff of GVK MIAL and NMIAL. While Mr. Abhishek Kumar won the tournament in the men’s category, Ms. Sarita Kamble emerged as the winner in the women’s category. While Josh conducts cricket, football, table tennis and carrom tournaments every year, this was the first time it conducted a badminton tournament.

Box cricket league at NMIAL

The fourth edition of the box cricket league, organised by the project sports committee of GVK NMIAL and initiated by the HR department, commenced on November 17, 2018 and will go on till February 8, 2019. The matches are played at the Project Office. In all six teams - NMIAL ‘A’, NMIAL ‘B’, MIAL ‘A’, MIAL ‘B’, Jaya He and NMIAL HR-Admin - are vying for top honours. The tournament is played in a league format with each team playing each other twice in the league stage. The top 2 teams in the league will play the finals. In case of a tie, one super over would be played while in case of a tie in the super over, the toss of coin will decide the winner. Each team consists of a maximum of 10 players including one female player with a maximum of five reserves. All the matches are played with soft tennis balls. Currently, NMIAL ‘A’ and NMIAL ‘B’ are on the top of the points table with first and second position respectively.

Bonalu celebrations

Bonalu, the Hindu Festival dedicated to Goddess , was celebrated with religious fervor at Taj Banjara. Popularly observed in Telangana, the festival is considered a form of thanksgiving to the Goddess after the fulfillment of vows. Bonalu involves the worship of Goddess in her various forms such Mysamma, Pochamma, Yellamma, Dokkalamma, Pedamma, Poleramma, Ankalamma, Maremma, etc. As part of the festivities, a puja was conducted at the Mahakali Temple situated in the hotel premises. The General Manager of Taj Banjara along with the HR Manager joined the team to wish each other a very joyous and blessed Bonalu. A sumptuous array of sweet dishes and treats were also prepared for the celebration. The brightly coloured decorations at ‘Annapurna’ added a fitting touch to the festive fervour and appreciated by all.

Ms. Sandhya Rani, an employee with Taj Banjara, was recently applauded for her prompt services at Breakfast Omelette counter by Ms. Swathi Roy, a guest at the hotel. Ms Roy also described Ms. Sandhya as an asset to the organization. From dishing out delicious hot omelettes to remembering guest preferences to suggesting new dishes, Sandhya left no table unturned when it comes to guest service! Her ever helpful demeanor and cheerful attitude has earned her much praise and appreciation from the guests. In recognition of her tireless efforts, Ms. Sandhya was adjudged as the ‘Employee of The Month.’

Foundation Day

Taj Banjara celebrated its foundation day on October 19. This year was even more special as the hotel celebrated its 40th year of existence. To commemorate the occasion and to pray for the prosperity of the hotel and its staff members, an all-religion prayer was organized at the hotel. International Chefs Day International Chef’s Day is a global initiative that creates awareness and generates exposure for the culinary profession. It is celebrated on October 20 every year. This year’s theme was ‘Foods for Healthy Heroes’ and the purpose was to leverage the popularity and aspirational appeal of superheroes in order to inspire the youngsters in eating healthy. To recognize the chefs for their endless efforts at bringing the world on a platter, Taj Banjara organized a series of thrilling activities on International Chefs Day. There was cake cutting to begin the day on a sweet note, and as the day progressed it only got sweeter with compliments and praises from colleagues and seniors. To add to the excitement, there was a tug-of-war contest. The day ended with an address by the HODs of respective departments followed by high-tea.

Health check up Taj Banjara recently organized a health check-up for the associates. The doctors addressed various health issues and made the employees more aware about the importance of living a healthier life.

Diwali was celebrated with grandeur at Taj Deccan. While lighting diyas, making rangolis, floral decorations etc. are the most common ways to start the celebration, this year, the celebrations were different at the hotel. Associates’ mood was very vibrant with employee engagement activities that were lined up for Diwali to create a festive spirit. The idea behind these activities was to create a festive atmosphere at workplace and bring in Diwali fun, as most spend their day at the workplace even on days like these. Potters were invited and all associates were invited to participate in the same while mehendi artists were also invited and ‘Back of the House’ female associates enthusiastically got the mehendi made.

Unique Christmas celebrations

The housekeeping team of Taj Santacruz, led by Anagha Phadnis, Executive House Keeper and Vaibhav Patil, Deputy House Keeper, shared some ideas to put the Christmas decoration for a cause of War on Waste. With a little creativity and thoughtfulness, they placed a Christmas decoration using the discarded liquor and water bottles, as a focal point in front of the all-day dining restaurant, Tiqri. For the arrangement, they used close to 30 bottles which were washed and sanitized. With a week full of efforts and craftiness, each of the bottles was decorated without incurring any external cost. Beautifying it further, the engineering team assisted them in lighting the arrangement. With such a great start to the festival, General Manager Mr. Pankaj Sampat applauded the team for their creativity and craft which was also appreciated by the guests.

Cake mixing session

Taj Santacruz had a cake mixing session organized by the poolside for the associates and the guests. The bakery team led by Chef Ritesh Ranjan Singh organized the session which was a hit among associates and the guests. Being the first one, all the colleagues along with the food production team were highly enthusiastic about the whole experience. Chefs ensured that there were sufficient gloves, head gears and aprons to take care of the hygiene standards.

At Taj Krishna, the associates do their best to make guests happy. One of the guests, Mr. Nanda Kumar was extremely happy with the splendid service he received from one of the associates Mr. Anoop Chacko and also made some great remarks about his exceptional service and care. Mr. Nanda Kumar appreciated Mr. Anoop for his warm behavior and was also happy the way Mr. Anoop received him in the club and came to his table and informed him that he had a guest in the lobby. As Mr. Nanda Kumar was about to shut his laptop to bring the guest up, Mr. Anoop did not let him do that. He asked him to continue his work and personally went down to bring his guest up.

Special Christmas lunch

On the occasion of Christmas, Taj Krishna organized a special lunch for staff in Cafeteria -- Citrus. The team organized the delicious range of dishes and one of the best desserts which the employees loved was the sweet Kala Jamun. The day was followed by carol singing.

Christmas decoration competition

To bring joy and happiness for employees during Christmas season, the HR department of Taj Krishna initiated ‘Departmental Christmas Decoration Competition’ in the hotel. Making the perfect use of their scrap/ best out of waste, everybody gathered to make the most creative Christmas tree that could make them unique. The departments that participated in the competition included the Human Resources, Sales and Marketing, Food Production, Engineering, House Keeping and Front Office, Microbiology, Security, Food & Beverage and Butlers. The Engineering & Food Production department was declared as the winner of the competition. They made a Christmas tree using DVDs and PCBs while the Food Production department used onions, egg shells and trashed plastic bottles.

Taj Krishna celebrates Mr. Ratan Tata’s birthday Mr. Ratan Tata turned 81 on December 28, 2018. From starting his career on the shop floor of Tata Steel in the 1960s, and handling the blast furnace, to heading the Tata Group as Chairman, it has been a long and eventful journey for him. Taj Krishna celebrated Mr. Ratan Tata’s birthday with the department HODs having a great time with him on this special day. Goa Health Minister, Mr. Vishwajit Rane inaugurated the Emergency Care Centre (ECC) at Sanquelim – North Goa PHC in the presence of local MLA and Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly Dr. Pramod Sawant on December 18, 2018. Other dignitaries present on the occasion included Director of Health Service Dr. Sanjeev Dalvi ; HOO GVK EMRI Goa, Mrs. Purti Patkar. Mr. Rane also inaugurated another ECC and one ALS ambulance at RMD Keri in North Goa. Earlier on October 27, 2018, Mr. Rane had inaugurated an ECC and an ALS ambulance at Aldona PHC in the presence of local MLA Mr. Glen Ticlo, Dr. Dalvi, Ms. Patkar and staff from Aldona PHC and GVK EMRI Goa.

181 Women’s Helpline launched in Goa

The 181 Universal Women’s Helpline was launched in Goa by the Health Minister Mr. Vishwajit Rane. The helpline is an initiative undertaken by the Government of Goa that ensures complete safety and security for the women of the state. The three main activities the helpline, launched in association GVK EMRI, are advising, rescue and counselling for women in distress. Additionally, the helpline will offer guidance to women seeking to venture into business. They will also be informed about the various government schemes they can avail of. It will work towards women empowerment through information, education and awareness.

GVK EMRI 108 Citizen App launched in Meghalaya

Meghalaya Health Minister, Mr. A. L. Hek launched the 108 Citizen App on November 12, 2018. The event was organized at GVK EMRI Meghalaya State Office. The minister also handed over the PG Diplomas to the two batches of EMTs who successfully completed the course. A brief presentation on the Citizen App was given to him explaining the features and advantages. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Hek congratulated GVK EMRI for the wonderful service it is rendering to the citizens of the state in particular and human in general. The contribution of the EMTs and Pilots, their love and affection and service towards saving lives was also appreciated by him. He also narrated a personal story where his daughter received help during an unfortunate accident at Pomura by the GVK EMRI 108 ambulance team in August 2018. He met the EMT and Pilot and personally thanked them during the function. He was also happy to note that the organization has reduced the burden of the government by creating job opportunities in the state.

Accolades for Prathima Rao

Mrs. Prathima Rao, an employee of GVK EMRI Karnataka, who is also an International Wheelchair Tennis Player, has won several accolades for the country. While she won women’s singles title in the Bangkok Cup, 2018, she also bagged singles and doubles title in the Tabebuia Open for Wheelchair Tennis, 2018. She also emerged singles and doubles winner in the AITA Ranking Marina Open for Wheelchair Tennis. Prathima was felicitated at the KEF Tennis Challenge at Dubai and by the SVES English High School.

Best bartender from Hyderabad

Jit Mukherjee from Taj Krishna was honoured as the Best Bartender from Hyderabad at the ‘Belvedere Bartending Competition 2018-19’. Over 12 candidates participated in this competition, and Jit proved himself once again to be the best by making cocktails with an organic concept. Jit would now be representing Hyderabad at the all India competition to be held in New Delhi. The competition offered all the participants a chance to showcase their bartending skills, ingredient knowledge, mixing, pouring, nosing and stock taking. All the finalists also got the opportunity to showcase their signature drinks.
