There are also many ferry connections between Paros and other islands. There are no taxi-meters. ouY can find a taxi in Parikia, in the central square and also in Naoussa by the little river. By Bus The frequency of routes depends on the season, however, bus transport is frequent and precise during the Summer months and connects a lot of regions of Paros such as Parikia, Naoussa, Aliki, Punda, Golden Beach (or Chrissi Akti). The island coasts length is 118.5 kilometres. It has a crucial geographic location in the central Aegean Sea archi- pelago. The coastline of the island offers beautiful beaches or secluded coves, among rocks. Relaxed or cosmopolitan way, Paros welcomes you and offers to all visitors unforgettable holidays. Go around this unique island and enjoy it the way you feel...... 0017 0018 0019 0020 PAROS TOWN AND VILLAGES Parikia Parikia is the capital and the main port of Paros island. It is one of the most typical Cycladic towns as it is distin- guished by its narrow cobbled paths, the old churches, the small shops and the houses in blue and white. Parik- ia is today one of the most popular and busiest spot of the island, as its cafeterias and restaurants along the waterfront attract many visitors. Parikia is also famous for its vivid nightlife, which makes it along with Naoussa village the two busiest tourist resorts of Paros. Is situat- ed on a picturesque bay on the north-west side of the island, occupies the site of the ancient capital Paros. Enjoy walking in the old quarter with its market street which lies a -minute walk from the port, behind the main square, visit the Venetian Castle (13c -bc) and the Ancient cemetery and enjoy typical Greek food to the restaurants and bars down town. 0021 Panagia Ekatontapiliani Back from the port, around 400m left of Parikia's main square is the town's principal church, the Panagia Ekaton- tapiliani, literally meaning "church of the hundred doors".
